I have 2 Phlizon 1200 watt led. Can’t figure it correct height. And if to run both switches veg/bloom or only veg during veg . Everyone says diff. Also are cover crops a good idea. Clover etc ..., indoor grows in soil ? I started with fox farm chemical nutrients but trying to switch to organic gradually. Is that possible or is it only possible with new plants not the ones in veg stage now. Also my soil ph is a little high any ideas how to lower it. It sits at 7.8 right now. Ugh. Thanks

hi and :welcome: @Pizzabud21 :pass:so many different leds around, most try 36" and then see if plant is squat, normal or stretchy and adjust from there.i had a light with veg/bloom switches full blast from the get go
yep clover can work :smokeit: ph down, white vinegar can work :coffee:

Welcome to AFN! Sounds like you have the complete cycle of questions, lol. Here's my shot at a few answers!

Q1: The manufacturer is the one who will tell you the proper height for your light. We can suggest heights, but we don't have the info to make an educated guess. Their website should list that info.

Q2: Run veg during veg, and bloom during bloom. If you need more light penetration in flower, run them both at the same time.

Q3: Farmers have been using cover crops since the beginning of farming. I'd say yes. You'll want to google "cover crops" to find out what works best for you.

Q4: Either you are organic or you're not. There is no transition. If you want to be organic, you start with an organic soil/medium and get rid of bottles almost completely. Maybe try it on a future run once you get your feet under you. Personally, I wouldn't even be thinking about organics if I don't know how to lower the ph in soil yet. Take it one step at a time. Get answers to your current questions and learn to fix the current issues before you change to a whole new set of issues.

Q5: Plenty of ways to lower the ph in soil.
Flush with water only at say a 5.5ph, until it starta to reads in range. You can add organic matter like alfalfa.. But organics take time to work.. Like weeks. And you don't have that kind of time at 7.8. You'll start seeing signs of nutrient lock out soon if it's not lowered. SulfurSulfur works as well, but requires calculations for how much to use. Best bet for you is probably a flush. Are you ph'ing before you feed? The soil should be about the same ph as the water/nutes your using.

Hope this helps a bit! Good luck on your grows! !

I use lemon and sometimes lime or sometimes box, seems to do the trick, little at a time.

I own a Platinum light that has veg/bloom switches.
Platinum says to turn on the the veg switch, and not the bloom switch, until late veg, then turn on both switches.
Not using both veg and bloom during bloom would be wasteful.

Lights too close can stunt growth and cause lasting damage.
Lights too far away might slow growth slightly.
