Indoor Nomis' Berry Ryder Rotisserie Grow Journal

Day 70 Update / Start of week 11!

Hey guys,

Today is the end of week 10, temps and humidity are a bit low this week but I battle on! I'm in no rush to chop as I haven't cleaned out the drying closet yet and am also messing about trying to perfect my soil ph for the next grow. I got a bag of Light Warrior that I think I'll mix some of into the leftover FFOF. I added lime to the leftover soil last week and have been rolling it all about in a plastic tub every so often. Will start taking some PH samples this weekend.

Water this week went in at 9.5ph, and came out at 6.1. This seems to have resulted in a bunch of leaves starting to spot with calcium deficiency. Cal needs 6.5 soil ph apparently, as does the very important Phosphorus nutrient, so guess I'm not doing the plant any favours this week. So my plan this week is to send in 1 gallon of clean water @ 10ph tomorrow and check the runoff, then chuck in a round of Tiger Bloom with cal/mg at a corrected ph on Tuesday, and go from there. Water uptake is slowing it seems.

Here are some pics!

Nomis ... How many spectrums is that light and is white one of them ?

:Sharing One:

The light is a little more than a year old now.
It was advertised as:
Spectrum of Light - 430~440nm ,450~475nm, 620~630nm, 650~670nm, and white, Real IR spectrum: 730nm

What I can see with my naked eye are 10 red, 62 orange, 10 green, 14 blue. There are no individual white LED's and no 'dark' led's that would indicate UV or whatever.

It looks like those spectrums get the job done ... :Sharing One:

The greens are the wacky ones. From what i've read pure green isnt used by plants much if at all (people seem to use them in their grow rooms during dark periods etc), but these are more on the greenish/whiteish side & not very deep green. I've read some other stuff on green colors used to affect plant respiration too, but I'm too noob to understand it all yet. White LED is very interesting in the newer models, and definitely a requirement for my next light I think.

I've never been a fan of white in LEDs but I'm not well informed on the subject ... I can't imagine a light doing any better than the one you have ... I suspect the greens are actually another color that just looks green to humans ...

Amazing work, nomis! Such a beauty...

Very weird, I had the exact opposite problem with the FFOF in the sad little bungled grow I'm finishing up now--the soil was basic as hell and it's been a struggle to keep the pH down.

Really want to try some of those SuperRoots pots!

Actually Berry ryders Are cal/Mag HogHoggs.....

Nomis ... I was just looking at your light on Ebay and I have to say I really love the idea of no glass and no secondary lenses ... I always figured if I took mine apart I would try to remove the glass ... it also looks like you can run that light pretty close to the canopy ...

Swamp, do you have a BR grow on here I can look at? I'm looking forward to any blue I can bring out of her, I put one in total darkness for a few days last time, but nothing really changed. And yeah, she's stinky like a blueberry pancake.

I did move her back up a few inches closer to the light Chester. I thought the 'reflector' idea was nifty instead of secondary lenses. One of the vets on here has a 4 panel version I believe, but not sure what they're up to with it.
