Indoor Northern Lights Auto x 5 do they look ok??

There is no better Spectrum that Led Lights will give the Plants. Hps has only Orange Red and Warmwhite Specs and needs a hell lot of more watts for the Output Plants need.

hey guys,

just looking for some feed back on how these guys are looking. i see the edges of some of the leaves curling up... here are the stats for them..

planted after paper towel 10/27/14

roots organic soil in 3 gallon bags
(1) 400watt HPS
(1) 150 watt CFL side lighting
(1) 300watt cfl side lighting
2'x3'x5.6' tent
(1) 4" HV inline fan ductiong
(1) 4" HV inline fan intake
(2) fans inside tent blowing

temps 74-83 degrees
humidity 38-48%
used nutes two times onyl so far at 1/3 dose recommended (buddha grow)
PH of fresh clean water is 6.8
PH of Nute water is 3.8-4.0 (only use about 1 or 2 cups of nutes at a time the rest is clean water.

400 watt HPS is 16-18 inches away. up until tuesday the HPS was only 6-8 inches away thats y i thought i had curling originally. but moved it up and seem to be the same but they are growing faster.

your plants look fine. no evidence of nute burn but may be to early to start feeding them and definitely to much light the cfl should be enough until rapid growth begins.HPS is really only needed for flowering

has anyone figured out why HPS flowers so well? I have never used them because of heat issues. I grow with fluorescent and have recently begun playing with leds but the SPD for hps lamps does not match the action curve for plants.so why does it flower so well? understanding this would help design better led lights but could not find any studies or information on the net to answer this question

It is the light spectrum I believe. LED's are proving to provide the same yield as a MH/HPS as of late. You just have to make sure you get the right LED light spectrum if you go LED. For pocket costs and first grow finance issues you can't beat the MH/HPS combo considering you can get one on Amazon for 120 bucks that includes both MH/HPS bulbs, a 400 watt dimable ballast and a timer.

Looking to hopefully get two ounces a plant. We will see. Hopefully that's not a crazy goal.

Not a crazy goal. I got 5.6 oz from 2 White Dwarf plants my first grow and I sucked.

Yes, thanks. Used to seeing it referred to as PAR. When I Google SPD I come up with

Updated pics / adding lights

good morning all, it has only been a few days since i took my last pics and then posted them yesterday. not too much has changed but these suckers grow pretty quick.

here are a few pics to just keep the log going for now. as temps drop outside i am really dialing in my grow tent. installed a humidifier in the closet (outside the tent thought) and thats keeping my humidity between 46-58% for the most part. i dont leave it running the whole time. i have it on 15 minute intervals right now. it seems as thought the ones that have been closer to the CFL's have gotten better growth and look more full and bigger. they are only 2700k cfls for right now. trying to get 5000 or 6500 today to swap out. i am going to add another 200-300watt cfl today as well so the three of them hit all sides of the pants to get more growth out of my back two plants. still have my 400 watt HPS running right now. i am afraid to take it away from the plant. i need to just bite the bullet and do it and see how growth goes for a few days.

the more i add the crazier the electric bill gets haha.
