Hi,

It's been a while since I finished by last grow and the tent was clean shortly after. Today I turned on my fan and there's a smell coming out of the exhaust. It doesn't smell like weed, but perhaps more musty or stale water. The inside of the tent has no smell.

Prior to my last grow (single plant) I installed a new filter. It 4 inch by 12 inch charcoal canister from Amazon. Could the filter be no good already? Or could there be something else?

Thoughts?
Thanks :-)

I really don't think it's the filter. If your not smelling it in the tent have you checked what your fan smells like?

I disconnected the filter and ran the fan...gives no smell. I think its a case of you get what you pay for; buying the cheapest filters on amazon.

I purchase all my filters from amazon, perfect for the last couple of years crossing fingers lol.

Do you have any duct work to vent your exhaust? If so, there could have been moisture left in the duct work that has gone musty/mouldy.

To double check, is your filters cfm larger that the fans cfm?
