There is no right or wrong answer to this question. Different nutrients companies will recommend different schedules, and different plants have different needs. I use organic nutes in low concentrations, so I generally feed with most waterings. Some growers who use synthetic nutes will alternate food and water to slow down salt build up. In the end, the answer is you feed as often as the plant needs it, and err on the side of less food if you're not sure. It's much easier to give a little extra to an underfed plant than trying to help a nutrient burned plant recover. What nutrients are you using?
