Grow Mediums Oh No..BayLee420 Going Hydro

Thanks for the quick responses.
I'll upgrade the air pump when I construct the 10 gallon DWC/Top Feed. Right now the cost to upgrade this SuperPonic with an air pump as good as your suggestions is not in the budget now.

Just need to get a good air pump that will get me through this "Test" Grow.

I'll have the 10 gallon DWC/Top Feed constructed while the SuperPonic is running with my 1st Hydro Grow.

I don't plan on using the SuperPonic after this 1st Grow.

The crapped out ECO air2 was in the box for almost four years. I knew it would crap out.

Going to need a newer submersible pump for the 10 gallon. Not as important now as the drip will be shut off when the roots hit the nutrients reservoir.

The 10 gallon set up needs to be over kill.

Good News.
My Top Oyster Shucker has an air pump. Brand new. He was upgrading his 100 gallon aquarium, but his wife had other plans[emoji848].

We be in business.

Well.....it's a start.

The nice thing about the DYI 10 Gallon DWC/Top Feed system is the top lid is replaceable. If I need to grow just two plants. Considering that I maybe only be able to do two plants; I can do just a two hole 3" to 6"net pots.

Right now I'm working on a 6 X 3" net pot system. The Drip pump and the 6 bard drip manifold will be centered in the bottom of the reservoir. The drip lines will be then be directed to the net pots. The drip lines will have an adjustable drip cap that can be maxed out to 20 GPH to 0 GPH. Also there is a tee that is attached to the water pump and 6 barb manifold for a 1/2"reservoir drain line.

I plan on cutting out a section of the bottom of the Stealth TV Armoire's floor to insert the DYI DWC/Top Feed. This will lower the DWC profile so I have the grow top area of the system only a few inches exposed instead of the entire system just resting on the grow floor.

That will turn the Stealth TV Armoire into a Hydro Grow Box.

Me personally I'd start with a 2 hole setup before going 6 - I think you'll find 2 will be plenty for space and everything. But like you said the lid is replaceable so you can play around.

I had to cut the bottom shelf out of mine too to lower my pots to give better light coverage and allow for more grow height.

Once funds allow I think you'll want to increase the air pump too...more air is never a bad thing.

With you on that. However, I am posting the DYI DWC/Top Feed set up so others who have the space to do a 6 hole net pot can see how it can be constructed.

I've searched the web for a DYI DWC/Top Feed instructions on how to build one. Besides the Grow Weed Easy DWC/Top Feed build; there really isn't any. When I search YouTube for DWC/Top Feed DYI...there are some DYI's, but not really anything that warrants as good.

When anyone Googles DYI DWC/Top Feed...they will be directed to this AFN thread.

Actually this is a DYI DWC/Top Feed that would not be possible w/o the help of all you chiming in. :thanks:

A lot of this stuff is DIY if you think about it. We all make changes to fit our needs.
Luckily you have the time and smarts to make this work. I'm sure you'll knock it out of the park.
