New Grower Olly's Autos! First time grow DWC, LED BlueMazaar!!!!

'Ello Fellas (and ladies)!

I'm starting out for the first time, trying to grow 1 at a time.

I have learnt a lot from this forum, and probably shouldn't have bothered with DWC, but f**k it. You only live once.

At considerable financial cost I have decided to not mess around and splash out on the following items.

Could you guys

1) tell me if there's anything else I need.
2) critique what I've bought and suggest improvements.

Here goes!

20ltr Oxypot (with lid, net pot and root cover)
Nutrient level pipe
1/2 L clay pebbles
240 L per minute Hailea air pump.
2 x 2" airstones.
Rockwool 4" cubes.

Grow northern 0006 LED light.
essential pH meter.
Bluelab Truncheon EC.

Canna Aqua Flores 2 ltr.
Canna Aqua Vega 2 ltr.
Canna Cannazym 250ml
Canna Rhizotonic 250ml
Canna PK 13/14 1 Ltr.


And there we have it!! Let's hope my GF doesn't find out how much I blew, she's still awaiting a birthday present!!!!

I'm aware I still need cal-mag (don't i?), and I already have the cabinet and timers, fans etc etc so I don't need advice on the simple stuff.

What else should I get? And if anyone has used this set up before give me your feedback please!!!

Also, will all these nutes last longer than just 1 plant? Surely.....

2 quick questions

Is it impossible to SCROG this set up?

I have Blue Mazaar and the new white widow autos, anyone know which strain is likely to be more forgiving?

Haha What's more beneficial than growing your own bro? : I get what your saying though mate,but the effort you've put in will reward you in about 3 months when you've cropped,and the money you save on not having to buy it is very beneficial,especially if you've got a birthday pressie to buy :High 5: :smokebuds:

Easily mate,with the high prices and scabby deals on offer you could smash that if your a heavy blazer :smokebuds: it becomes a very addictive hobby :stylez rasta smoke:

Hey Olly ,your nearly set for a monster grow dude. With the nutes theres a bit more to get yet ... I have the same light ,oxypot & nutes but use a few extras as well .Mainly for bloom .You could just get the CannaBoost but that stuff is mega expensive !apparently it is very good though ?. Instead I use Bigbud ,then potash with carboload ... This works great too but it is more bottles again...You do need something though & as you have everything else set for success I would be a waste to not complement your whole setup :stylez rasta smoke:Think about it for a bit as you wont need them just yet .The other thing is Silica .... AN silica blast or dutch masters silica gold ect...these are great to strengthen the plant in veg .(only used for a week or 2 before bloom)

So I would suggest grabbing some silica for sure & then a good bloom booster for the later part of the grow. ?.You wont use all the nutes in 1 grow ...maybe a liter of aqua flores & half a L of rhizo ,but the aqua vegga & silica ect will all last ages .

You say 240 l per min pump :no: is that a typo bro !.... is it a v240 L per hour ?. ...some pics & specs of that pump would be good :Coolio:

You dont want 4" cubes in the 5" net pots .... the 1" cubes are better Olly ...or 1" root riots are even better again .

A spare bucket or 20L container is very handy for res changes ...spare bucket for putting the plant in while you clean the 1st one ect... A srcog is not doable as you need to fully change & clean the bucket weekly & the whole plant/bucket needs removing to do this

Before you get started ,Soak those pebbles in boiling water a couple times until clean ...then in 5.5 ph water for a day or 2 & then dry before use .This stops the pebbles making the ph sway .

Thanks again for your input mate, it's really appreciated. I'm gonna take the hit and get the Canna boost you mention and the silica. As you say, they'll last a while and TBH I'm saving a fortune anyway (in the long run).

I'm upset about the SCROG, so I think I'm going to find a way to work round it. Surely some people have managed. I'm only growing 1 at a time so I really need to maximise the yield to ensure I don't come out of my COMA before the next one is done.:drool:

Yeh to be honest £1000 is extremely conservative. It'll probably be triple that. Street weed has gone so badly down hill in the last 5 years. it's got to the point where I'd rather go without most of the time (means it really must be bad). It seemed to have a diff culture 10 years ago. Now it's just about ripping people off and f***ing them as much as possible.
