Grow Room Open Source Grow Cube

Looks like it could be a simple case of over watering. Has your reservoir level changed recently?

The water level has only changed by the typical amount. The plants are drinking about a quart of water a day. Can you over water in Hydro?

Scroged!

Consider yourself SCROGED! I finally built a net. Take a look. Thanks Jack The Spliffer for the 2" spacing on the net. Anyone with experience please let me know if I'm better off growing the plants horizontally under the SCROG net with it close to the plants (say 8" under the net) or by spreading the plant out with the net higher (as most of you seem to do)? Remember I have a 26" limitation from the top of the res to the bottom of my light. I'm thinking lower is better. Thanks.

Hey Jack, you can absolutely over water in hydro. If the water level is too high the plant will start to drown. I ran into the same problem because I assumes it wasn't possible to over water in hydro. You could take a half inch of nutrient solution out to let the base of your root system and your root plug/rock wool/seedling holder dry out some. This will help prevent further damage more quickly. Or you can leave it to level itself out through the plants own feeding habits. Good luck!

Thanks gbd, After you suggested over watering I let the res drain a little and the problem seems to be abating. I was filling the res a little higher than last grow. Hopefully you've nailed it. I'll let you know.

My pleasure! Thanks for the rep. All the best to you with the rest of your grow.

gbd hit the nail of the head. I let the water level in the res recede and the limp leaves have disappeared. I am pleased that I haven't had deficiency issues yet. The plants look great with the 100% Technaflora nutes. I'm growing the plants horizontally under the SCROG net.

I had the same thing before with pooling in the tank, I stick a clothes peg(all I had to hand at the time) under the tank at the front now to angle it which helps the water drain off the top more once the root mat gets thick. Just remember if you do, when you fill it up it'll be deeper at the root end!

Trouble

I need some help please. It looks like my deficiency is back. The area between the veins some of fan the leaves are beginning to lighten then turn rusty. It looks a lot like what I had on my first grow. They are the largest and of the oldest leaves on the plant if it matters. Thanks in advance.:help:
