Hey All,

I've been growing with a combination of a homemade space bucket and a bit outdoors over the last year or so and I think I've gotten bit by the grow bug because I want to scale up. I am really enjoying it and want to keep doing it a bit more seriously as a hobby (and of course reap the rewards).

I was hoping that people could throw in their 2 cents on the items that I'm listing below for my situation. Essentially I'm going to be growing auto's in soil, mostly 1 or 2 at a time and try to have a perpetual grow (hence why I've chosen the tent I did).

Light - Roleadro 400W COB LED,other option was like a MarsHydro 300W ECO or a Viparspectra)
Amazon product ASIN B013QLEYTW
Tent - BloomGrow 2'x3'x4.5' partitioned tent
Amazon product ASIN B074H9F4RK
Vivosun 4" inline duct fan with carbon filter
Amazon product ASIN B01DXYMGOMAmazon product ASIN B01DXYMBU6
Other things that i'll be picking up include the adjustable light hanging ropes, hygrometer/thermometer, clip-on fan, and ducting. And I already have the majority of other items like fabric pots, nutrients (fox farm trio), ph/ppm pens, ph up/down, etc.

So ya, any input or additional recommendations would be appreciated. Keeping in mind that in Canada that sometimes not all components are as readily available. Also, that I'm not interested in building my own lighting.

Thanks!

If your buckets/reservoir are 1.5 ft tall, and the lights must be 1.5 ft or further from plant tops, then that leaves vertical space for 1.5 ft tall plants.
I'd strongly advise you to get the tallest tent that fits your space.

I use that light in a 40" space tight to the ceiling and use 5litre/1.2 gallon pots. Gives me 24" of growing room, just, and I top or LST or both to keep the height in check. My girls do like that light.

Tag me if you do a grow, the light does have some fan noise.

Ahh, basic math, good call. I don't expect to be using too much larger than a 2 gallon fabric pot which are about 1 ft tall. But I should probably have some play in terms of vertical height to dial in where each particular strain likes it.

How loud is the fan noise? I've also listed a 4" inline fan which I would imagine is louder than the light fans. It's not really a stealth grow but I also don't want it to be overly loud. Also regarding the light, how is it for heat? Any issues on keeping the grow space cool? Do you have any experience with any of those MarsHydro/Viparspectra type LED lights and would one of those be a better option?

Thanks, I'll make sure to tag you if I do a journal on here. I'm excited to try some more significant LST and/or topping/main lining since I'll have more space.

It's no worse than a 6" clip on fan. They get warm but no warmer than other led lights. Never tried the other lights, I added home made autocobs. I liked the idea of cobs so if they stopped working I could replace quite easily. I believe the 400 is a 200 w at the wall.

Cool, that's pretty manageable. Might have to give it a shot.
What is the area of your grow space? I was just looking at a white widow I have on the go right now, and with only minor LST pulling out the lower nodes its canopy has about a 1.5ft diameter. I'm, starting to think a 2x2 grow space may not be sufficient for even 2 plants. I might have to search around the forums to see if I can find examples of that size and how other people are managing that space.

or just mount it as close to the roof as you can.if a plant needs to be closer dont move the light just set the plant on a box.
50x100x140cm
good luck n keep er lit.

Looks nice and compact yes :)

That's ok. I ended up going with most of the gear that I listed above. More because I don't anticipate myself going larger scale than 1 or 2 plants. My time is fairly limited that I can devote to this and I think I'd like to get better at managing and training 1 or 2 than having a big crop of half-assed plants. Plus I'm starting to play around with other plants like fruit and orchids so the side comparments will be nice for that.

Thanks! I did end up grabbing a few sets of adjustable ropes and ratchets as well. They may or may not be handy, we'll see. It might just be simpler to do what you mention and change the height of the plant via boxes but we'll see how it all works out once I have things put together.

I won't have time to set up until next week, but once I do I'll come back to post some pictures
