Hi !!

This will be my second year using Autos. I live in 41 N lattitude.

Last yeat i started in may and beg june, and the results were good (sugargom from Grass o' Matic, spanish company and some others)

Anybody here has experience in growing in march?

By the way, my assortment is:

Green poison auto, la diva, northern lights and white widow.

Thank you for posting!!

As long as the weather is warm enough day and night you can grow anytime.

Hello Namvet25 and thanks for posting!

I have datas from last year's harvest, but were the first ones I had. I suppose there's a remarkable difference depending when harvesting. Maybe some dudes have some suggestions

Check out your frost dates for your location. At 45 N mine were the 3 week in may, and if you are able to start them 1-2 weeks indoors this will help majorly to cold spells and better survival rate. Just my 2 cents hope it helped.

Hi rapeco ~

I'm already sprouting a couple of seeds now to grow in the backyard, but I'm going to be bringing them inside at night. I'm hoping to get a few rounds in this year by starting early however it's my first year trying, so I'm interested in gathering data also... I'm near SF so I'm below 40 lat/long or whatever... lol

Great idea about checking frost dates, mooons. :)

Keep us posted on your results, rapeco :)

"Super Stinky" outdoor now at 38 North

View attachment 182490

I'm am at 38N and at the extreme western end of the California Delta. These 3 "Super Stinky" from short stuff seeds were started indoors Dec 1st and moved outdoors Feb. 1st. Even with the short days and cold nights they are growing and flowering right now. They are all approx. 40" tall and nearly as wide. Night time temps in high 30's and low 40's. Daytime temps. Mid 60's. Each day gets a little longer and a little warmer. I tried growing photo period plants early last year and got a half pound of buds but as the days lengthened they reverted back to veg growth and never quite finished. The "Super Stinky" being an auto flower won't revert and should finish the end of March with daytime temps in the 70's and night time temps In high 40's to low 50's. I'm hoping these super autos will fill in the spring gap. I will grow photo periods starting April from seed.

Frost is a killer! I have saldy found out. Find out your last frost date and then wait 5 more days to keep them outside constantly (or atleast that is my rule)

Strains vary with different death temps for spring and fall.. I have weathered many of nights of 27-30F, with no damage. But some leaves begin to die at less than 27, buds will be fine, plants will still be alive but stunted...

Spring frost are something that can be avoided with covering and cold frames, or simply moving them in at night. Below 30F your asking for trouble.

Thank you dudes. I use to start with photo ones beg april. Frost is quite seldom here after mid / end march. This winter hzd been quite cold here. Today, by the way, is snowing in barcelona area!

In order to secure acceptable results i think it would be necessary to wait at least 3/4 weeks more. But as said, i have no experiences. They guys on the growshops here motivates you to plant always, as they just want to sell seeds ;-)

Thanks for this info - for some reason I thought 40F was the cold limit, great to know there is more leeway... :)
