Problem: dark clawed/droopy growth, some burn on low growth. Some leaves happy others not

Medium/grow method: biobizz allmix

Feed: and supplements used: none until Saturday, week 5. Half dose of biobizz grow and bloom

water source: dechlor tap slightly hard ph 7.1

Strain/age: RQS NL

light used: 100W true blurple

Climate: 18C low at night, 60% RH, 24C high during day, 50~RH. 18/6.

This plant has been unhappy for a while now and I’m mostly putting it down to the allmix.

it was a mutant as a seedling as and soon as strong veg growth started, leaves showing signs of n tox (clawing, dark green). It’s in a 2L pot.

I currently water once every 3-4 days around 300-400ml. When the pot is light and the soil is pretty dry below an inch.

I posted recently about this stating that it was week 5 and saw no signs of deficiency and so hadn’t fed it yet. It’s well into preflower with a decent amount of pistils so starting Saturday I began feeding half strength nutes (0.5ml each/litre equivalent) with every water on the recommendation of someone here.

it doesn’t look any better. Do note these current pictures were taken after a watering today so I expect it’ll be a little more flaccid than normal, but overall it’s very droopy, slow growing, clawing, and now some lower growth seems to be burning at the tips. I fed once more today, same half strength. Some new growth seems fine for now.

is the problem too many nutes still? If so should I just feed plain water again for a couple waterings, or even a flush? Seems strange allmix would remain so hot for this long in a pit so small but who knows.

Am I potentially overwatering too?

note: main stem snapped 8 days ago in a super cropping incident but seems to have recovered fine. That’s what the fucked up fan leaf is from. No other changes were caused by that besides that leaf dying.

Stop using nutes for awhile and leave her dry out if she is to wet. Lower ph to 6.5 next watering.

thanks for the reply mate. I normally let her dry pretty well between watering and as suspected the extreme droop was because I'd just watered her a couple hours earlier. Back to praying today.

You reckon just back off the nutes for the clawing / burning / overall sadness? I'll feed plain water next couple and see how it goes. Just a note on pH, tap is around 7.1 and nutes added brings it down to about 6.5 so I'm assuming if nutes are in the picture the soil should be holding the correct pH somewhat.

I just don't believe that 2L of hot soil has enough nutes to go for close to 7 weeks. Seems mental to me but can't imagine what else could be wrong.

Hi mate, little update. I still have no idea what to do with this thing.... Well into flower stretch now and as far as I can see still isn't asking for a feed, and is still potentially telling me it's got too much (somehow??!)

Last two waterings were no feed and I gave a little more water than normal for some decent runoff, just to see whether it showed signs of being hungry after that but nope.

Attached some pics. The brighter ones are under a cool white LED but don't show the colours as well - darker ones are with a phone flash. The actual colour of the plant lies somewhere between the two.

Should I just continue with plain water for now? Some of the pics show some oddly coloured new growth, but the rest of it is still dark green. Clawing on new growth has stopped at least.

Do you have bloom nutes? what are the npk values of your nutes. are you using cal/mag?

firstly let me just say cheers for your help.

yes, I've got biobizz grow and biobizz bloom nutes.

grow is 4-3-6 and bloom 2-7-4 but they recommend you feed both until the end, with 'bloom' becoming the larger partner in the mix by flowering (e.g 2-1 ratio, 0.5ml/l, 1ml/l respectively etc)

The soil was hot enough that I never had to feed grow throughout all of veg because she was showing n tox by the start of flower. Now she's started flowering, I waited a couple waters and started with a very mild feed of 0.5ml/l of both grow and bloom, and then stopped (thats what I was saying in the OP).

not sure why they recommend using grow until the end but it might be because it's molasses based for the microorgs in their soil mix (I used their biobizz allmix, hottest they do) or because it contains some micros, idk. They don't explain very well and their feeding schedule is known to be shit.

I haven't used any cal-mag. Tap water is slightly hard with about 10mg/l of Mg and 35mg/l of Ca.

Basically, I've only ever fed her twice, a couple weeks into flowering, and it was a diluted dose of both nutes in a 1:1 ratio, I did 0.5ml/l of each. Biobizz themselves by this point recommend 1ml/l of grow and 2ml/l of bloom.

First off the plants look ok to me?

How did you get your numbers on the calcium and magnesium if they are correct in weight per liter they are way low if that is all you are using? Of course there is some in the base nutrients. Show me a picture off the back of the bottles to see if we can add it up.

Don't feed soil every watering. More like feed, water, water repeat. It is better to underfeed than overfeed.

You continue to use both Grow and Bloom because they have different elements that the plant needs.

Once again massive thanks for the help. If you genuinely think she looks okay then maybe I just need to stop worrying. Whats got me is the slow growth and dark green clawing leaves, burnt tips here and there (classic n tox), mixed with some other odd colourings else where. Combine this with the fact that she hasn't had a proper nutrient feed schedule started in almost 6 weeks is just confusing me.

I get the c/mg measurements from the local authority that supply my water so its only an average. They update testing stats once a month. I do test the pH and it's exactly what they tell me it is (7.05-7.1). That drops to 6.9-7 with time based (leaving it out...) de-chlorination and 6.4-5 after nutes are added.

My current plan is to give her a feed next watering (that will be two without before that) and make it light, see how she reacts. If clawing comes back on new growth, I'm just gonna avoid feeding until blatant yellowing. Although that still just doesn't add up to me.

As for pics of bottles, it doesn't say.

Data sheets for both products (grow + bloom) are on their respective pages here https://www.biobizz.com/products/

The data sheets don't give npk values, you have to search around a bit more for those and the 'feeding chart' is apparently based on photoperiod veg stage clones so is effectively useless for me.

Secret Sauce.

You are a little heavy on the nitrogen but I have seen way worse. Just start with week 6 on the schedule. Since your water is so soft a little bit of cal-mag when you fertigate is a good thing. Never feed it by itself always mixed in the normal blend

You reckon go ahead and feed then? I was going to give a half dose feeding again next water to see how she reacts, and I just bought some calmag so I'll add a little of that. I still am conscious that week 6 on that chart is suggesting 1ml/l of grow and 3ml/l of bloom... Maybe I'll do 0.5 of grow, 1 of bloom and 0.5 of the calmag.

cheers buddy.
