Dec, 1st start date was made for everybody to have plants ready by Dec, 15th when the first check in is dated...

When you show your plants on the 15th you will be added to a list... Any time until the 15th you may decide to enter JUST have a plant started by then... If you get a late start then your plants may not be ready by Feb, 15th so you have to enter them AS IS on TIME...

We just had a cheater in the mix last time that I didn't catch until I promised seeds...

Yep the cut down (6mm) ones are exactly 16 Fl Oz /473Ml

I am happy to make an extra one and then number them with a permanent marker, take a group photo and then snail mail one of your choosing away to be checked.....as long as you are willing to post it back.

I'm dropping 4 of my DR x JEM seeds into papertowel tomorrow.
Hopefully I can get at least one to sprout for this comp.

I put 3 of these connected bottles together for the last comp

Well I got home tonight and the pump in the little water garden failed blah. So I had to rig up a new setup. Luckily I am a saltwater aquarium nut as well so I have a lot of pumps but the problem is they are all way to big. I went and found my smallest pump and connected up some hoses to downsize to the 1.4 tube I was using. I had to drill 6 holes in the tube between the pump and the 1/4 tube to let enough water out so it wasnt flooding the container with the plants above.

I didnt like the small amount of water the little water garden thingy had it was like 8 ounces is all so I used a empty plastic coffee can and cut up a plastic strainer for the top and drain. Its almost a gallon now haha so that should help stablize it a little.

So disaster averted I am just lucky I had a pump I could use although its still to large and I may have some heat issues in the water temp but I ordered a small 6v water pump to replace it that should be here next week.

No there are not holes in the bottom of the can. Just 3 drain holes in the sides so the roots will never leave the can. The coffe can just holds the water and pumps it back up to the top is all. That wouldnt work anyway as with my strainer drain there is just too much light in that section anway and the roots would die if they spread down there. I just disconnect the water line at the can and the whole thing comes apart.
