Persistent pythium (hydroponics)

Quick update for anyone following this, I did not make the tea yet but I did add the Myco-Grow to the reservoirs, and this one in particular shows astounding results. No before picture, I should have taken one. The roots are healthy and have also exploded in growth. I’ll be brewing tea for sure as soon as I’m over a nasty cold and will be adding it to every nutrient change!!

Wow— quite the improvement. You must be thrilled!

I sure am :smoking:
I'll see how that tea does as well, the roots love it even when they are not infected so I'm curious to see how the plant does overall. I think my buckets are going to be packed with roots by harvest!!

I saw that blue sky myco-grow the other day at incredigrow, good to hear it's working for you! Does it desolve pretty well? Most of Blue Sky's product range looks to be for organic soil growers. Does it foam up or any other issues with airstones plugging or anything? I might have to give that stuff a try. What powder/water ratio have you been mixing it at?

Wow. That's some nice roots.
Excellent job.
Deserves a little bit of :slap: for sticking with it instead of giving up.
Once again, being an AFN member proves it's worth

It's made for any media, and is a wettable powder, I applied it at the rates here as no directions are on the bag: https://www.blueskyorganics.com/products/myco-grow/
It is a huge amount they look to mix, I can't even recall the ratio I figured it out then after applying I forgot but it's fairly easy. When making the tea you use way less of each ingredient so it goes way further.
I didn't plan to use it alone as I'm making the tea, and got worm castings and Green House additive feeding enhancer, it has additional ingredients similar to Great White. I got it in Red Deer at GroZone.
Saying that, the Myco on it's own foamed up a LOT but the foam died down and water is grey. It does settle to the bottom but I agitate it and pour it through the hydroton. I imagine the tea will homogenize nicely. I am using a 4" round airstone and it boils the water well enough that I don't think it can get plugged, but I check it anyway.
I'll make the tea tonight or tomorrow and see how that goes.

Thank you :toke: Honestly, after the time dealing with spider mites right before, I was getting pretty dejected about it all. You folks all really helped and I hope it's gonna be clear sailing for awhile here!

Don't tell her! Wait, she's already been here. :baghead:
I had to kill that plant last night, he was, a he. Always so healthy my males but no use for him :frowny:
Thanks, my tea is ready tomorrow afternoon so I'll be using that from now on :woohoo:
Thanks AFN crew!

I'll follow along here as well. I think the tea would be too thick for my LPA set up, but the Myco-Grow itself might work. I'm interested to see if you find that both the tea and Myco-Grow are necessary.

Tea is not in the slightest bit thick.
It looks like actual tea.
And the Myco-Gro isn't in addition to the tea. It is part of the tea.
