Persistent pythium (hydroponics)

Good to know. I may end up having to go that route as well then.
I was editing my post as you were quoting it, so you missed a part.
The Myco-grow is an essential part of the tea - not an addition to it.

I replied to your thread, but yes it is essential. I used it on it's own as well until I could get all the ingredients purchased, and noticed a huge difference as well, but had to use too much and I think with the tea it all comes together to provide much greater benefit.
And no, it's not thick, but I'm wondering about the micron size of the tea components in relation to your sprayers/misters?
If you know, you can filter it but not beyond 400 microns according to the information.

Whats your tea recipe? Were you able to find all the ingredients locally? I might have to try that next round.

I lifted the info from this thread here on another forum:

https://www.420magazine.com/community/threads/tea-bag-your-dwc.184191/

The recipe I used is this but had to alter ingredients and it took while to find what I needed similar to what we can't get:

recipe [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] (most aggressive)
- 1 ga water (if tap, let sit 24 hours or aerate)
- 1 tsp (5mL) Mycogrow soluble (Grow stores in Calgary, Incredigrow for this one)
- 1 tsp (5mL) ZHO powder (Not available, used Greenhouse Additive Feeding Enhancer instead, Great White works as well but didn't try it yet it's on Amazon.ca) Got the Enhancer in Red Deer, should be at most grow stores as well.
- 3/4 tbsp (11.25 mL) unsulfured molasses
- 1/8 cup (30 mL) Ancient Forest EWC (Used generic earth worm castings, organic).

If you want to check out either of my threads I have pics in both (I think) and more info but you gotta wade through some stuff. Great info on this board too in the organics section. There are a variety of teas, but this one in particular is great for treating root rot and now I have the opposite problem... My roots stopped my system from recirculating, they are filling up the 5 gallon buckets :face:

Thanks RG!

Roots growing too well is a much better problem to have than Rotting ones!
I have had a little bit of problems with roots growing into the recirculating piping too, although the way my system is set up it usually isnt too big an issue. In my setup the water from the control rez is pumped into the buckets at the bottom and reflows back to the control up higher. The positive flow in the bottom pipe keeps it clear of roots and since the return is at the surface of the water it is less likely to get roots growing into it. I have had a bit of roots float their way into the return piping but not enough to plug it up. Also it keeps a constant level in the buckets all the time and only the control rez drops in level as the plants drink.

I made a res like that, but never got the hang of it and bought the waterfarm res and controller, I should have kept troubleshooting the original. Oh well, I'll just keep modifying the 'farms until I'm happy.
And definitely a good problem to have, my plants are SO happy. Now I just need to risk trimming the roots (I do it in veg, not so sure about flower - and talking photoperiod plants not autos).

Yeah, I run my pump in a filter bag, but it’s not *too* small. We’ll see. I may go for one of the products that are more similar to hydroguard if I can find some place where they aren’t too expensive. I’ve already got a lot of different things going on, so brewing tea as well might be too much.

You have the options, so it's something to think about or put on the shelf until you want to try it :smoking:
