Live Stoner Chat Pet Peeves

Damn at this rate we will run out of potatoes!

Actually it was just one jerk that got her exhaust system potato-ed. In fact she was a county sheriff that thought her crap didn't stink. Parked every night in front of my apartment complex's handicapped spot. After the tow and potato extraction; she's never parked there again.

There are people that get handi stickers that are NOT at all physically impaired. When I had leukemia my doctor asked if I needed a handi sticker. I declined the offer.

In the US the handicap population is roughly 19% with any disability. Seven percent have some kind of physical disability.

I am NOT at all obviously physically impaired. I have one of those "handi-stickers".
It would probably piss you off to see me get out my car, laughing and joking, carrying on with one my friends, tickling a kid or the general mischief I am known to commit from time to time.
No, it isn't any of your business to know why I, a seemingly physically un-impaired grown man have a "handi-sticker". It is a private MEDICAL issue.

What was accomplished by that?
Was someone impressed?, should we be? Should other lueukemia sufferers also reject their Dr.'s offer of something that make make a miserable time in their life less miserable if only in the smallest way?

As you said it's a private medical issue. My leukemia did not impair my ability to walk or get around w/o aid. I feel that if you are physically able to walk w/o aid then you do not need a handicapped sticker. If you have other medical issues that allows you to have a handicapped sticker then maybe you shouldn't be driving.

That's what a Pet Peeve is. A minor annoyance that an individual feels is particular to them to a greater degree than others may find it.

I hear what you are sayin Baylee but think about some one with Thalidomide whose arms may be affected , they can walk but find it hard to carry goods to the car.

Someone with Cystic Fibrosis who needs Oxygen tank & tube to help respiration, will find it hard to get around due to breathing difficulties.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is debilitating syndrome and leaves the sufferer virtually no energy to get around and a long walk to their car is out of the question.

I know you are not being unkind and I am not arguing against your comment, just pointing out the ability to be able to walk is not the end of the story.

Disability can be very tough and conditions are not always obvious to others. A car can be some people only way of still retaining some personal independence and link to the outside world and even a lifeline due to medical complications.

I'm with you on this issue. My point is that people who park in handicapped spots that are not handicapped. That is they do NOT have a HANDICAP sticker fixed to the window. If you do have a sticker then you are allowed to park w/o an issue. I don't look to see if you are physically impaired, but do you have a sticker that says you are allowed to park.

Living near a primary school and having to deal with women that park anywhere, think they own the roads with their Chelsea tractors and let their kids walk on my wall winding my jack russell up!

Hard Hats, why have I got to wear a hard had if working in a quarry with nothing overhead apart from jet planes? pretty sure if one of those come down my 'essential PPE' will let me down
