The most important thing we try and tell new growers is to start with a quality soil mix not some back yard garden soil.If you are growing in a all organic mix and use all organic nutes you really shouldn't have to ph your intake water,but if you start with a poor mix and use chemical nutes you have to at least ph your intake water.There are a lot of growers who check there runoff water also and some that just make sure they ph there intake. We have had too many grows that don't turn out when using MG soil and thats why we don't recommend it.

Honestly why make things harder? It's called doing things right the first time. I have grown pot since the 90s and never had ph problems... dolomite lime is our friend.

U can use cheap miracle grow soil with success if it's limed enough.

I'm just saying people need to learn how to walk before they run. Research is a must when growing, you can't dig up dirt from your back yard or use cheap dirt with no amendments and hope u succeed. Chasing ph in soil is making more work for yourself and stressing out the plants. My results speak for themselves. I'm not just getting lucky for the past 20 years...

ph is everything. since you been reading all these cannabis growing books you should know that chlorine and fluoride will make ur plants look like shit.its not recommended in anything I read. so why do you use it? wouldn't it make more sense to evaporate it. that's what a successful grower would do in my opinion.true growers cant be lazy.

Does that include the organic nute line?

Oops, my bad, I forgot they have a token organic mix. But even their perlite has it in it! I couldn't find perlite anywhere local this spring that didn't have it!

THANKYOU. Finally, I have used ALL organic products and followed as many organic guidelines as I could, yet everything I did failed and kind of still is, yet I found out my WATER, yes my WATER had shit in it that was not good for any of my plants, canna, tomato-whatever.

I was referring to the mg organic mix which is essentially pro mix.... Check the ingredients. Ph of this soil or pro mix is generally 4-5 which by itself well not grow well, added lime and some ewc and even a good Fox farm dry nute and you have a killer mix....

Think of cooking food, a recipe calls for a mixture of ingredients that by themselves would be not good but combined in the right portions work very well.

Try a Britta filter on your faucet if your water is that bad. I water my garden and my outdoor plants with non evaporated city water and they love it. Sorry your water is so bad, try a well or get a good filter.

Check out some of Tom hills gardens. He grows 10 pound plants in organic raised soil beds. He doesn't check runoff Ph, or adjust his hoses ph... he uses an easy killer mix and the plants are legendary.

Start with a known successful mix and don't waste your money on a ph pen.
