Hi AFN, i have a question about carbon filter and how and where to place it in the grow room. I have the following setup in my grow cab:

I have only a 100W LED light and silent PC fans for intake/exhaust mounted on the back side of my cab. Do i have to connect the carbon filter with the exhaust fan or can i hang it just in the top corner of cab?
Thanks

Hey GTX, you'll need to connect it to you extractor fan, just hanging it won't do anything. Considering you'r using PC fans I'm assuming it's a small space? usual setup I've seen is like this...

Your other option is to push the air through the filter and have it outside the tent.
I have mine (Rhino Pro) hanging in the top, directly attached to an RVK 125 fan and ducting out. Hope this helps?

Thanks for your replies,

Chronic_passion, yes its only a small space for 1 or 2 plants (cca 140cm high, 40cm wide), what do you think would a ONA gel be enough instead carbon filter?

I’d get a cheap little 4” kit on Amazon and have it handy. It’s possible you won’t even need it. Ona gel is good — but never place it inside the tent. Good luck!

Here’s a look at my setup. It doesn’t have to be in the center of the roof. Hope this helps.

This is how I have mine setup. I spent maybe 140$ on the kit from vantech including a controller which is a must. That controller is the bomb and these filters work amazingly.

My plants were sticking since week 3 of my grow and now I'm in flower and you can't smell a thing. I turn the filter off and within minutes the smell is everywhere. My fan runs super low and makes almost no noise. I can only recommend it.

PS: I think I will move it out of my tent on the next grow to create more vertical space for me plants though.

thanks, could you recommend a specific purifier? I only need to cover smell of one plant or two.
In my grow room I am using the Honeywell HFD320 Series. I have a better one in my bedroom which is the Winix WAC9500
