Heavyweight Fast and Vast, 5 weeks.

First grow

600w HPS
4x4 tent
70% cocotek
30% perlite
gh micro and bloom with calmag
lucas formula: been working up to full strength 6ml micro 9ml bloom.
Last feeding was 4.5ml micro/6.75 ml bloom/2ml calmag

ive been feeding once a week because the coco has been staying moist that long. I'm seeing other people say to basically water it daily or every other day once the roots are established. Maybe it wasn't getting enough oxygen to the roots? Any thoughts? I know it's not that bad but there was a noticeable difference in the past couple days and I'm trying to stay ahead of it.

So not necessarily any truth to watering the pots often? Found it odd that I could overwater it by watering once a week. temps are all stable 70-75 daytime 62-67 night 20/4 light cycle by the way. Thanks for the advice.

Your light on temp could be a little higher around78 to 80, this might make your soil dry more quickly.Your roots are still forming and once thet fill the pot you will need to water more often, until then only water when needed.

What size pot are you using? Watering daily is usually done with small pots. Try putting a fan blowing at the pot to help wick away moisture

5 gal smart pot, ill try to raise that temp a bit and ill get a fan on that pot. Thanks guys.

Ya 5 gal is going to take a while to dry out. Once a week sounds right. If you want to try multiple feedings try a 1 gal.

I am growing some girls in the same size smart pots. 100 % coco. When I hit um heavy, just under a gallon, they get a bit droopy too. Give it a couple of days til the top is lite brown. Worked for me.

Yeah I might have watered too soon but it had been 7 days since the last watering and the surface was basically dry, just underneath the surface couldve definitely been dryer but they were already drooping at that time. They started drooping about 5 days after its last feeding and then I watered 2 days later with plain 5.8 out of fear of over fertilization. Theyre also beginning to develop some brown/yellow spots that appear to look like calmag deficiency but theyre probably not gonna get another feeding for about 6 days. I notice that the bottom of the smart pot stays really wet, I water to run off, not exactly sure what percentage but its a good amount.
