Lighting plant photonics led

Have you not read any of the research done by tons of scientists from NASA to universities about the effects of green spectrum on plants? A really good article on the subject was already linked in the thread, maybe this time you will read it http://www.heliospectra.com/sites/w...ents/what_light_do_plants_need_2012-10-05.pdf

Also temps in my grow space are the same as ambient in the room yesterday was a high of 78F. The LEDs may produce a slight amount of heat but they all do. Most people with LED lights never complain about the heat thats one of the major selling points of LEDs. When I was running HID lighting I had to run A/C constantly.

I want 5w LEDs because they have a longer throw and better penetration. Im running 80 5w in 7 wavelengths right now.

And Im not so sure that yourself and Alpha dont have something to do with this company so yeah I feel like the grow journal could be biased. Just saying its odd how you follow the links on the webside and you see Alphas name plastered everywhere....

ok im not getting into a argument over leds lol and im definately nothing to do with plant photonics, if i was i would be running there lights bro infact i have just ordered a new grow northern unit lol. my original post was asking if anyone had used the lights before as i was on the lookout for a new unit and came across them and wanted to know more about them and i trust people here so thats why i asked.

Sorry homie didnt mean to sound harsh. Im not trippin, I just see some things about the light I really dont like. I hope whatever lights you have work well for you! Peace and lots of tasty nugs, or Cheers Mate!

its cool bro i know the lighting side of growing(especially led) can be a mine field at times here have some stone dragon :Sharing One:

cool, all calm now then? cheers Tang. i dont just display the photonics LED by the way, it was used in a comaprison test against another LED , same size, same soil, same strain etc... everything except those damn cold temps,. we was expecting it to raise the temps a bit but it didnt,

If you had followed the link on the photonics site and looked around a bit more eh? got a lot of different ones on the go at the mo, even the famous GN Ms-0006 & its doing very well indeed. Proud to have it aboard.

So biased? nahhhh mate. Just love LEDs.

Yes the Plant Photonics Amethyst leds are expensive. However, they produce 1.3 grams per watt so they are total quality! Also I think they look quite tidy. Osram leds. Power supply on the outside to reduce temps building up on the inside of the led. The question really is, when other suppliers start using osrams, how much will their panels be? Way more too, I reckon. It's good there is more serious competition in the led world. But this is like a mile stone led, in the terms you can grow 4/5 oz /Zips with 90w of electricity. That is something special isn't it! Also they have an awesome 32w version that looks to be an excellent led side light option. I like the fact you can grow lots of weed without paying for too much electric. On the other hand I agree the price is too much for the bigger panels, especially when you get up to the 280w. Myself, I have just bought a Budmaster 450xg for cheaper, a small chunk cheaper than what the plant photonics 140w would have cost . Thanks for the discount Alpha. I do see Plant Photonics as a top led company, though when other suppliers use Osrams, it will be interesting then to see what happens in the market.

Osram LED lights are now being manufactured in the UK mate. No need to buy from such a long way away anymore. Things are really getting exciting in the way LED grow lights are evolving.

Well, thread's a little old, but I'm going to give these lights a shot to see what happens. The technical description on the site is excellent and makes sense why this light (in theory) is premium compared to the eastern ones. We'll see what happens :-)

I've got 140w plantphotonics panel. I've also got a Mars reflector 3w led panel. The plantphotonics is streets ahead in quality and result.

It looks hand made because it is, by skilled engineers using top quality components. In fact the only fault I'd say is it runs too cool in cold weather!! This light is the bollocks. Don't fall for marketing hype. Use your noggin.
