namvet i really have to differ with your answer, i veg and flower under 2700k and i have compact, small bushes with hardly any stretch, just my opinion, peace out, BARNSIE
I hope the AKR stays bushy
It is proven that higher kelvins produce shorter internodal growth
a factor that has been even bigger for me - The difference in day/night temperatures.
I run 20/4 or 18/6 for auto's. Never more, never less. A lot of people have different opinions on the drop in temps, but adequate day and night temps can help a plant not stretch - their metabolism and different things can get messed up - stuff that's doesn't have to do with kelvin.
To the original question of 6500K seedling and keeping it compact....
You have to remember the factors that play into View attachment 347637length.
Adequate Lighting > Type of Kelvin
Genetics > Type of Kelvin
Enviroment > Type of Kelvin
To name a few. You can lst a auto if you are comfortable with lst'ing (I've accidentally super cropped auto's and to be honest with you, the less stress the better.)
Low stress training has worked for me with auto's but not much other techniques that are used with photo periods. Autoflowers have a predetermined amount of days to live if you will. I've experimented A LOT. I've topped, super cropped, lst'd, played with kelvins, temps, the list goes on. Like I said, It's the amount of light, genetics and environment that play the biggest factors in how compact your plants grows. Lst'ing them is fine, it is a HUGE help in keeping them compact but I would only do it if I was familiar with it in OP's shoes.
With all that being said - I know a lot of people who grow their photo periods as such.
Flouro's 6500K seedling - start veg. Mh veg/First two weeks of flower (when switch is switched to 12/12) finish with hps 2700K. The difference in the Stretch is pretty noticeable. Photo periods stretch a lot when you flip the switch on them. Some of the fasting Stretching I have seen is in those 2 weeks.
6500K is proven to reduce stretching here compared to when they throw on the 2700K the day of 12/12. Kelvin does matter but there are more important factors to take into consideration. Even though it's a auto, it can be treated as such, tweaked in a manner ... experiments are fun...Good luck OP.
I'll leave here with this
What is Kelvin?
the SI base unit of thermodynamic temperature, equal in magnitude to the degree Celsius.
The Suns Photosphere (effective): 5778 K
We are trying to replicate the sun right? The sun put's out 98 Lumens per watt if you were to measure efficacy. How cool would it be to have a 10W light that put out 1000 lumens?
I've had too much kilimanjaro and coffee. Sorry to whom I bored to death. haha.
OP Keep it short and compact with 6500K and possible LST.

Edit - Just as a side note. Super cropping, Topping and defoliating has done nothings but severely decreased my yields or stunted the crap out of them with auto's. Maybe some people can do it, I don't and don't recommend it.
Lst only for advanced techniques to keep your plant compact.
