I also used this pen, its works well for me, calibrated correctly and didn't take to long.
I compared it to another one that arrived in the post and it was quite out, so calibration before first use is quite important to have an accurate meter reading.

If anyone has a rough idea of how often this pen needs to be re-calibrated please do let me know?
This pen is cheap and cheerful, it would be good if someone could validate its results against a higher end pen but it works for me so far.

Play safe,

I've had the ph-009 for six months. It's worked perfect. It reaches a stable ph reading in 5 seconds. I test it in calibration fluid almost every time I use it. I might have to adjust it 0.1 or 0.2 every 2-3 weeks. I've soaked it in Oakton probe cleaning solution. It required a 0.5-0.8 adjustment after cleaning, and maybe a couple more small adjustments over the next couple days.

I recommend buying HCl storage solution, put 8-12 drops in the cap and store it upright when not in use. I think that's the key to any ph pen being stable and lasting a long time. I rinse under tap water, gently shake off and install the cap. I add storage solution every 3-4 uses.

I also have the Milwaukee 600, a comparable pen. I use the two together to verify each other's readings. I like the ph-009 better because 1) it's calibration adjustment is coarser, not as twitchy as the 600. 2) It reaches a stable reading in half the time.

Both meters have gone bonkers a couple times (at different times). I've found that letting them dry out by setting them on a countertop for 6-8 hours without the cap installed brings, then resintalling the cap with storage solution, and trying it the next day they're back to normal. I think this might be due to rinsing the probe under the tap too carelessly. Maybe water got inside. (I've dropped mine in the bucket once. I removed the battery cover, let it dry for a few ours as above, and it was fine.).

I bought mine on Amazon. It's called "BestDealUSA PH-009" there.
