I'm happy to be included in the Kind Soil tests! I've been curious about running a hot soil so here's my chance! Not only will it be an interesting test, it may give me some ideas to test down the road.

I'll grow 4 Double Bubbly, a never released Mephisto Strain that I've not had a chance to grow out properly, so I decided this was a good opportunity. I'll use standard 2 gallon pots. I'll grow 2 in the Kind soil, 2 in my organic, simple soil mix. I'll use RO water with 90-120 ppms of cal/mag per gallon. I'll be using the small, 32"x 32"x60" tent with the Mars Hydro 192x3 Reflector LED growlight.

This should be an all around fun grow! And I can't wait to see what others will grow for the test!

Lets show them Autos that kickass!

I'm on the fence about topping with my soil or using coco. I may do a pot of each. I'm skeptical about using plain coco as a medium so I think the one of each could show whether or not thats actually a worthwhile method or not.

I'm keen on the idea pops! :D

I'll be watching with interest! I have a plan but i'll wait to see what your's and EoF's look like in a couple of weeks!
Hope it all goes well!

What are you using for the top 4/5ths odd of the medium?? (or have i misunderstood something and you're going direct to kind soil?)

:d5:

I'm also think that it has no nutes for the seedling. I don't think ph is an issue, its the way the coco is used as a medium to hold a hydro style solution that requires a lower ph. I use 30% coco in my soil with no ph issues ever!

Haha Selfish Blue Speaking - can you do coco please?? :D

I've been spinnng my head over it - part of me thinks its not going to work for a couple of obvious reasons. I was tempted with Canna Bio Terra Plus as a luxury base. Although i got bags of coco.

I guess you're thinking the same as me - coco likes 5.6-62 ... kind soil likes 6.2-6.8
I know what happens to the buffers and the PH with plain water in my coco (it's bad)
& how will the plant feed bfore the tap root gets to the bottom.

Questions questions with no apparent answer yet! :D

Team Player Pops!!

Flushing is a myth and does nothing but kill your plant.

I'll be interested to hear the smoke report comparison as it's supposedly hot enough to sustain a long grow photo, and whats left after an auto grow can't be flushed prior to harvest.

(Yup, I know the whole natural dont need it thing, I still flush natural as much as I can and I "think" I can tell the diff in my own grows if I dont... but maybe it's just me...)

Tag.... I'm in :smoking:

I was refering to final flushing of plants before harvest actually. There is no scientific basis for "flushing" to improve taste, etc., whether in soil or hydro.
I was referring to flushing just prior to harvest, since you mention it kills plants im assuming I must not have typed that out very clearly... hazards of being stoned I guess...

I you see my tag line. I encourage everyone to question everything!

Ok, thanks. I have looked at this soil in the past and the only thing that stopped me from trying it was my very first posted question.

Didn't mean to hijack your thread but it was a relevant question pertaining to this product and I'm guessing I'm probably not the only one who's wondered about it.

Since I think I can taste a difference in my own grows when given only water just prior to harvest as opposed to being kept on nutes till harvest I guess I will just have to try it for myself and taste the results.

Never heard the magnesium myth before.

Thanks Again

Peace

yes and no. Making super soil isn't cheap so when compared to that, and the fact you only use a pound per gallon, its not too bad. Yes, still a bit expensive but not unreasonable. And look how much people blow on bottled nutes!!

Kind soil is too damn expensive for me.. After shipping it's like $15-$20 a gallon

I grow organically. I use a simple soil vs super soil is all. And I agree also with the Seagrow. I just grew a Sweet Trainwreck and a Blueberry Domina in autopots. Coco for the medium and a solution of 16-16-16 Seagrow set to 450-650 ppms. I used it all the way thru with great results. And yes, this is not for everyone, but I do think if its effective, then the price is not out of line when compared to bagged supersoil. What's ridiculous is things like " Roots Excellorator" for $150 a bottle! SNAKE OIL!

I'm not ragging on the product btw. I'm just saying for me it isn't economically sound. Especially when I can purchase seagrow 4-24-24 for dirt cheap and it'll last me a dozen grows, and it's 100% organic so I won't have to worry as much about not being able to recycle or use that soil later on in a tlo grow b
