Poppin Poppies

Oh Oh Oh Me too Me too. The Penguin is also going Poppy Mad.

I just received my opium poppy seeds and some China White seeds. I shall also be giving them a go this summer.

They are so easy to grow over here, but I never had the "correct" seeds. So I am also subbed up and joining in. Purely for the ability to supply the Women's Institute with dried stems n heads for their flower arranging classes. Ahem, cough !

Should be fun ! eP.

any chance of a link to a reliable seller of the seeds??

man thats an EXCELLENT link to get em too.I may get a 30 dollar order when I can swing that.awesome variations n ohh da purty flowers :Sharing One:

march ya say? hmmm Imma have to toss that around some that would be ideal actually.a full on harvest through the year LOL!! that would be stellar!

Glad you liked the link my good chums. I have no affiliation with the site, just a happy customer.
They are from Parkland WA (whatever that means) and you get a good two or three teaspoons of seeds. Which if you know anything about poppy seeds equals a few thousand!
I cannot comment on the success of the grows as I have not yet started them, but they are easy to grow and very hardy.

Bring them on..... eP.

oh ya poppy in general is a VERY hardy crop too. Parks eh? i wonder if theyre off from parks seeds or an offshoot er something..?lol i buy from there but never tried looking for them cuz I just figured yeahhh right ya know ?LOL!!

Don't spend too much on them though. All Papaver Somniferum poppy seeds will grow poppies that have opium in them, even the ones you buy for baking at the store. That's where my first batch came from. What I want to run this year is the gigantums. More poppy head = more milk.

yeah if i remember right thats what these are..im gonna slide a small trellis er something in the pot when its time n weave it around it i hope. should be interesting to say the least!! when I cut these n harvest some beans I bet the germ rate should be solid being from fresh living organics since poppy has a tendency to be tough sometimes..well i didnt have a problem with these.

Which method to you prefer scraping the bulb n slicing it partially to bleed it or the fletching of the stalks? yeah those chine white have me all fuzzy thinkin bout em lol.. I like my variety man lol!:Sharing One:

Theyre getting beefy errrerrr n stuff.the lil one under the big one is struggling and I dont wanna remove the leaf cuz i have no clue how it'll respond since i know younger they can be a lil wonky but pretty confident in my living mix it'll do ok prolly, but imma leave it alone.cant wait till i teardown n clean my tent so i can try some others of these.i really wanna try them chine whites!those sound fantastic lol!!:smoke:
