Potassium deficiency I believe. Which fertilizer? Also, I have no males for a seed grow!

I've got some lowberry pollen in the south central area

edit foxfarms big bloom is microbes, grow big until wk 6ish and tiger bloom for flowering

lowberry is a cross with Blueberry and the original Lowryder....Cross that with my Lowryder 2....that equals something tasty!~:D

I can make a male out of a female plant??

Oh, this site has so much information! I CAN make a male out of a female plant. Sounds complex, and it wouldn't give me pollen in time for this batch, and all my seeds are used up. :cuss:

I would suggest you post up some pictures of the plant you suspect has the deficiency so we can have a look. Make sure they are taken in natural light so we can see the true color of the leaves. Also, some details about your soil, the pH you are feeding and your run off pH. If it's a pH issue then feeding more nutrients probably won't help.

Okay Muddy and all others reading,
Here's the details I have. Soil is a Sunshine Mix 1, professional mix used at greenhouses in town. Good texture, but I'm guessing not designed to give many nutrients after the first few weeks. The water I feed is from a water distiller I have on my counter, so should be a PH neutral 7. I've only fed the sick plant once ever, just 3 days ago (Foxfarm Big Bloom), so she's probably starving. I just got back from the store. Got Foxfarm Big Grow, Tiger Bloom, Decided against the expensive testers. Got a cheap mini PH tester probe. My PH is the line right between the 6 and 7, so I'm estimating a 6.9 PH for the soil in the pot, and also out of the bag. I bought PH tester drops for the runoff. I got some runoff, added it to the test tube, added the drops, and got a color match of 5, maybe 4.9.
So with soil at 6.9 and runoff at 5.... I have no idea what this means, really. Please give me a super-brief lesson on PH for autoflower; what's best? Why measure soil and runoff, and how to use both of those readings. Was the soil I purchased just not right for autoflower? May I feed her? Flush the soil with mild Big Bloom? Or water? Please help anyone. Thanks!

Ph runoff is way to low. You need to flush with 6.3-6.5 water. Use the drops that probe is probably worthless. Mine was. Then add some big bloom, grow big and tiger bloom at 1/2tsp per gallon each. Ph is probably locking out nutes. What is the ph of your tap water before and after distilling. Also what type of distiller. pics would definitely help

Thanks Happily. My tap water is 7 PH and my distilled is approx 5.5 PH. So should I maybe just flush with some tap that I've sat out over night? Distiller is just a lil' one gallon Kenmore that sits on the counter and drips a gallon in about 4 hours. So... with this info, what shall I do now. Should I have been using tap water all along? It sure would be easier... Thanks for more guidance.

Alaskan you need to either adjust your tap water to 6.5 or raise your distilled to 6.5 like happily mentioned. You can use lemon juice or vinegar to drop your tap water to 6.5 just easy as pie. Just add a few drops and test it.

I'm on a well but I just use tap around here. If you take the 7.0 and add nutes it should drop your ph. Especially the tiger bloom. You don't want to much tiger bloom until around wk 5-6 when they start slowing vertical growth anyway. I'd flush with 7.0 then add some 1/4 strength nutes and check the water/nute ph to get it around 6.3-6.5ish then feed it. good luck

Sunshine #1 is your basic semi soil less mix, pretty much identical to the Pro Mix that I use. It's fine for growing autos but since it contains only starter nutrients it's up to you to supply everything the plant needs. I'm sure the starter nutrients are exhausted at this point. I normally start to feed mine at about 1 week with a very weak, 1/8 strength feeding, slowly increasing to 1/4 and eventually 1/2 strength. So at this point I agree, yours are hungry. I would suggest feeding them at 1/4 strength Grow Big, pHed to 6.5. Capture some run off and test it. That will give you a base starting point and with the run off reading, we'll have a better idea where your soil actually is.

Unfortunately, cheap is not the way to go when it comes to pH meters, especially soil probes. The cheap ones are about worthless and if you can get your money back on it, I would suggest you do so. They are often off by as much as .5 - 1 full point, making their readings untrustworthy. The only good soil probe I've found is the Control Wizard Accurate 8, which sells for about $60.

:bow:Thank you everyone! I'm going to get on this today, in fact right now. I've been so ignorant, and I'm learning the hard way--through my mistakes! I'll do what you say. I still have questions, such as ultimately shall I use my 7.0 tap water with nudes after dropping PH with lemon juice or vinegar, or shall I use my distilled that's 5.5 and try to raise it. Not sure how to raise it. I'd sure rather use tap water, since distilling is a pain. Please say I can just use tap. Ha! For today, it's tap water I sat out last night, some Big Grow, and lemon juice or vinegar to adjust PH. I'll get some runoff, check it, and let you know where I'm at with PH. What a super group of people you are! I hope I'm not being a big pain...Thank you!!!!!!

I would suggest you use the tap water. Add your nutes first, then adjust the pH. The nutes themselves will lower the pH, how much depending on how strong the feed is. If you need to raise the pH you can use baking soda.
