looks like it will be a really interesting grow Groff ! Good luck man
It certainly will be a challenge!
I managed to drop the rez temp 1 magnificent full degree Celsius using frozen water bottles, from 25 to 24. Just returned from buying "space blanket" insulation to cover the whole system. Ambient temps are up into the 30s with the extra air pump and power head. I did not expect such high temps as on my other tent, the coco mix rez (which sits outside the tent) is now down to 21C now autumn is creeping in.
I am hoping with the insulation I can lower the temps and maintain them longer. Water bottles are not the answer and do melt quickly. I even attempted adding salt and alcohol (during the summer as a test) making my own DIY freezer packs, but felt absolutely no difference in function.
Transplanted the babies into the net pots last night, but today I was "horrified" at the lack of root growth. As soon as I lifted the lid, water came pouring out the net pot.. wtf ?!?! Water level was about 5-8cm below the netpot.
So today I lowered the water level by half, and even turned the bubbles off. Even still, RH inside those buckets are close do 100%. I've shaken all the water off, but heap loads of moisture still drip off.
Out of the 5 plants, the one left out was the smallest and I could swear the first true leaves were dead. Today its perking up. One very interesting mutant 3 cotyledons + 3 first true leaves.
Certainly got the jitters... took me a full day to get pH to 5.5... though I am relieved by the fact that topside is developing. I feel like on those movies or cartoons where some guy who has to fly a helicopter for the first time to escape and seems like he's gonna crash any second...
Pics later!
