I hatte this hobby because you have to figure out about your preferences before you come up with a frame of reference ..

This is what I see

Wet- easier to trim, finger scissor hash, buds look picturesque(bag appeal),faster drying

Dry- more smell(bag appeal),helps the flavor

Dry sounds appealing to me because of smell of it after cure

I was wondering if I could do like half and half.. Keep on line for a 1-3 days then trim

Some people hang the whole plant and only trim after about a week or two ... For me it depends on humidity in my drying space ... If rh is high (60%+) I trim the day I harvest ... if it's low I let the trim help to extend the drying period .... aiming for dry (62%) in 5-7 days from harvest ...

I'm thinking and hoping it will get dry before 7 days , I'm paranoid about mold..the green ninja seems to be prevalent around here lol any ways to avoid that too? The rh in my tent is 40-55rh ,not sure

I was gunna dry them till leaves weren't completely dry, trim those off,dry for another day..then put them in a mason jar with hygro. And move them down to 62 by checking and burping if it get too high

It is a lot easier to trim right away when the unwanted leaves are sticking out rather than waiting until the wilt making it more difficult to remove.

Hijack alert!! I am currently curing in mason jars with 62% boveda packs. How long do I leave the packs in the jars? I am burping the jars each day for about 15 minutes.

Assuming your buds were very close to 62% rh when they went in the jars then you would leave them in as long as your buds in the jar or until you need the pack in another jar ... the Boveda packs are for long term storage ... I've had some in jars for a couple years ... if they get too full of moisture I set them out for a day or two in a drier than 62% environment and they 'shrink' back down a little ... and if they get too dry I put them in a high humidity environment to recharge them ...

:tiphat:

oops ... :tiphat:

Im with namvet for my photos I trim right away. A good rule of thumb, and please tell me if im wrong, is the 7 rule. 7 days @ 70% rh @70 deg

***Edit - No matter the preparation I am scared shitless of the drying curing phase. I've only done hanging. Never paper bag.

Yea I'm pretty scared right now since it looks like my girls are finishing like a week before I expected....my scope or hygrometers havnt even came yet and my bitches are yellowing like crazy...

Anyways hopefully my first harvest will be mold free...I think I'll be fine with my hygrometers though

I haven't tried the paper bag method yet but it intrigues me and I do plan on curing some of my next harvest in a bag, it sounds a lot nicer than stringing up my tent "uuuuggghhhh..".
