Hey !

Curious to find out what happens if , one does not harvest auto on time, and just lets it run full length, can it hermiate before it dies ?

I gathered following knowledge from this forum and web - So please do correct where its wrong..

I know hermis sometime happens in photosensitive female plants ..if not harvested in time, in the end as a last ditch effort to propagate, they produce bananas on the buds which have pollens.. or male flowers which only produce female seeds if they pollinate a female ..

Or there is no possibility of hermis in case of autoflower ? It will just go to its natural end and die without herming ?

Thanks !!

Bump ! Sorry ! :P

The old school way of procuring female pollen which you are referring to is called Roderization. Sure its possible on an auto(as it is on a photo), but as the old school breeders will tell you, its not a perfect technique to secure female pollen. If you dig up the book "Organic Marijuana Soma Style" there is some information in it about roderization..

KNow that if you try roderization it might take a long time past ideal harvest for a nanner to show(if it does at all). If you are going to do it, selectively harvest your bud at the optimal time, and leave the underformed scrag bud to develop way past the prime time for the experiment. If you are a med smoker, this way overripe bud, will likely have beneficial use for sleeping.

I've had 2 things happen at end of life with autos.

Might get a branch or entire plant just plain die or they go foxy and produce empty pods, lose bulk denisty and die away at a slow rate.
