That light was designed for the veg stage of growth so not enough red,if you look at the spectrum of the Modular Lights ( Deep Red 7pcs, Red 4pcs, Blue 2pcs pcs, Warm white 1pcs, Infrared 1pc ) Epistar 630nm, 660nm, 740nm & Bridgelux 460nm, 2700k*....it's more suited to the whole grow.

That's a good question that is hard to answer. Different manufacturers are using different wavelengths, all claiming they have the best mixture. Most now use at least 7, several reds and blues, as well as orange, white, UV and IR. The early models only used 3 but it was quickly realized that better results could be had using more. The UV and IR were added to later model and now all the new ones use them. UV, in particular, is much needed to grow weed. If you're planning on building your own I would suggest you look at the latest models from companies like Blackstar and model yours after theirs.

Wow, thanks for the constructive and fast replys :) So those 3 LEDs are definitely not enough.

Anyone know a good web shop (preferably western europe based) that sells these? I'm looking at Farnell now but the webshop isn't so clear to me :)

I've been trying to work out led lights for a while now so if IR is needed how come hydro grow don't use it and there lights are known as the most successfull LEDs out there? I'm looking to get one soon but I read to much and keep finding things on the net that put me off takeing the plunge! :-s

I think it's UV that Hydrogrow don't have,my Grownorthern LEDs don't have UV but I'm getting great results.

Yea that's what I meant :-s there all quite different but all seem to work with good results I was looking at grow northern and have seen your threads and they def do the job good growing buddy I wish I had enough dollar for a few of these panels!
