northern light
Hi, First time growing have a few northern light x bigbud auto in 4gal pots outside. All going well but i'm just worried about heavy rain. If the buds get completely soaked for a few days but then the weather turns good will it be a problem for mold? How long does it have to be humid/wet for budrot/mold to grow? I can't move them under shelter and its already hammering it down...feel bad for them haha

new zealand

Thanks in advance :)

hey bushmaster15, I have read that thread, its awesome info only wish I had read(found this site) before starting my plants. only thing is I didn't have time to go out and make a cover over plants so they are going to get drenched for 3 days... has anyone been in same situation, I have heard of people using a fungicide in with the water which helps the plant fight mold/budrot. Will put up photos when I can. Cheers

how far into flower are they?

They are all at different stages a couple weeks between each other but the furthest along plant would be at least 3-4 weeks flower. Main cola is getting pretty thick.

3-4 weeks into flower a few days of hard rain shouldnt be an issue unless the strain has little resitence to mold. I would set up dew shields if you expect more heavy rains closer to finish...most mold will begin to appear on weeks 5-6 of flower

Hi. In addition to the above comments, which I'd agree with, my last grow of a range of autos outside (check sig line below) I harvested eight plants between 8 and 9 weeks total time. I had rain, fog, mist, cloud from weeks 5-9 with only a couple of days without rain and any sun. Most of them got a little bud rot, but it only came on late, around week 7-8. So I'd say you are okay for now, but if it gets rain like that during the last maybe 3+ weeks, then you need to keep your eyes open for rot. My grow was tropical / sub-tropical, outdoors, guerilla, at altitude about 600m in the mountains. Very wet, relative humidity no less than 75%, and often around 85%-90% mark. For your reference.
