Rainwater with algae?

So, I harvested about 30 gallons of rainwater a couple weeks ago and put it in 1 gallon jugs I had around. Now, they have some algae growth starting - a slight greenish hue. Is it ok to use it on my outdoor plants in soil?

After it rained you need to hurry up and cover it with a lid or something. Otherwise the sun will evaporate it an cause algae. White containers will get algae quick cause the sun shines through it.
