I will also add that I have experimented with the number of plants. I only run two under the kind 600 watt which should be fine and I do 4 under the platinum 900w
Yessir, I think that is the answer. Maybe not the one sought out, but I think the correct one..... genetics-
...light PAR-
.... next round consider going with a full nutrient line and a good quality soil that's not water-only,.... or try a different brand "super soil" like the suggested KIS or SoHum, and consider PK boosters at dilute dosing to help things along, maybe even include a good bud hardener like Avalanche-
I know what you mean about the shrinkage affect-... water content and some other things can affect this, one of the touted tricks that bud hardeners do is help reduce this, but it's still coming down to the naturally formed density of the buds during development, and what you feed them at that phase,...
No, doesn't make sense to me. As with most parts of the cycle the ripening is just as important and abusing by not watering does not sound like a good idea to me.Someone suggested not watering for 5-7 days prior to harvest to let the buds deflate a bit which would result in lest noticeable shrinkage. Is this a technique any of you have used?
I don’t know nothing of your lights , I use quantum boards & cobs . Leds don’t give off IR like hps/hid/mh. So the temperatures need to be in mid 80’s to raise leaf temp that the IR would normally do in the mid 70’s for best results. The lights you have should do great , use them till they shit the bed then switch. Cobs & QB’s are easy to fix / upgrade & last a long fricking time . All these experienced light vendors & none suggest higher temps lol ! Good luck .I think both the Kind and the Platinum are at the top end of the LED quality spectrum so I don't think lumens are the issue. My temps are always in the 70's and humidity 40-50% and I run an 18-6 schedule. I grow in a well ventilated tent with fans inside.
I have grown Dutch Passion Auto Ultimate, Fast Buds Pineapple Express, Dutch Passion Auto Mazer, Royal Queen Northern Lights and several others, again all top shelf strains and breeders.
My buds look great and feel hard on the plant but once dried they're fluffy.
I would switch to hydro (even though I've never grown with it) but just don't have the height in the tent to do so.

Never checked leaf temp, my 5x6 closet stays at 84-88 f lights on & the bitches do well . I try to keep shit simple . I will thank you for saving me some $ , i was gonna buy some qb’s 96’s & some far reds for lights out . But after reading what you posted about that working great for photo’s but probably wouldn’t do shit for auto’s I decided not to , so thanks for that !I don't know man, I think most growers are struggling to get lower temps. Unless you're pumping 1500ppm CO2 or following a Vapor Pressure Deficit chart isn't 85F a little too hot?
What leaf temp do you usually shoot for? You can get a decent IR thermometer gun on Amazon for about $15 that will tell you exactly what temperature your leaves are. I grow with COBs and my room was always 78F-80F. The surface temperature of my leaves was always 1F-2F hotter than that. I've heard people say ~85F is better but my girls always looked happiest when the leaves were 78F-80F...
