New Grower Reusing soil?

I reuse soil--I add fresh compost and worm castings with agricultural organic fertilizer and a little compost starter, then water through with a little sucanat and molasses. A two-week old plant's roots in a cup are not going to have any effect on a seed's germination, at least not in my experience, but you could always pull the roots up when you remove the old plant if it worries you. ;)

knowing what dieing roots can do is enough to not want to risk it , saying it is ok is not sound advice , rusian rulette has a higher chance of not blowing your head off , but would you play it or tell your kids it is safe ?

why take the chance when in under 5 mins you could have removed dieing roots

im really starting to dislike the poor info/advice thats been spreading around this site lately , we are NOT supposed to be just another shitty cannabis site

All the soil from my indoor grows gets tilled into my flower beds and veggie garden. Since I only grow a couple of crops per year, I personally like to start fresh each time. I also think this thread needs some Gary. :Gary:

just a heads up , if , and i repeat "if" you are suspected of growing , one thing they look for is a soil in outdoor gardens that is filled with perlite etc , they know many of us fill outdoor flower beds and gardens with our old soil/soiless to try getting rid of it

just a heads up , i want everyone safe as safe can be

Thread cleaned. Any further outbursts and it will be permanently closed.

Thanks for all the help guys im glad i asked cause i almost just dropped a new bean in it but i ended up just tossing that dirt and starting fresh

:karma Cloud: for you and your bean, Brother!
Nothing better than getting tucked in to a freshly made bed. :gthumb: :vibes:

I've done exactly what the OP wanted to do innumerable times with no issues whatsoever, but feel free to believe whatever you want. ;) After harvest I let the roots break down, but I've pulled autoflowering males at three weeks and dropped new seedlings right in. No problems.

thats great , really happy for you , i hope the day never comes when you are really really relying on a seed/plant and it dies because of carelessness

my point and info is this , roots dieing and breaking down is a known issue , just because its common to get away with does not warrant doing so , i would never advise someone to do something knowing there is a chance of disaster

some people are fine giving poor advice , some are not , each to their own though i guess

Any suggestions or tips to get rid of it safely? I feel like an ass, I use black glad garbage bags bag the soil up, drive over to a friends house who does not grow or have anything to do with canna and I use their garbage can (of course with their permission) I always make sure its just soil and remnants in there and nothing with any personal identifiers… just feel foolish doing it, and couldn't believe it about a month back I saw LATE at night on my way home some guy going through all go someones garbage…. I called the police as it looked so damn strange… and they told me, oh thats just (forgot what they called them) making sure people were throwing away garbage in the right containers etc….

i take mine to the dump

the guy living across the street from us started telling everyone im a dealer when we first moved in , i hadnt even fired up a light yet , one night about a year after we moved in we caught him stealing our garbage , the entire bag , im sure he was trying to gain evidence on us , i also seen the garbage man put our garbage bag off to the side and a half block up the street he tossed it into the back of a city truck (half ton pick up)

times like that are when ive killed everything and shut down for a month or so , not that they ever find anything in my garbage as im not that careless , but just knowing im suspected is enough
