Rusting, Dry leaves.

Hey everyone. I have a grow journal up here http://www.autoflower.org/threads/doogals-first-auto-attemp.63617/ and am having a problem with one of my Chem Bubbly (Seedsman) plants.

Problem: Browning/rusting of leaf tips, spreading to rest of leaf, drying and dying.

Medium/grow method: Biobizz lightmix soil in 13.5L fabric pots

Feed: and supplements used: Remo Nutrients Velo Kelp - fed at quarter strength night before seeds went into soil. Then at half strength every 2/3 days. NPK 1-1-1
Sensi Grow a+b (fed for the first time last night)
sensi a NPK 3-0-0
sensi b NPK 1-2-6

water source: Tap water left to stand 24-36hours

Strain/age: Chem Bubbly - Seedsman (I believe it may be mephisto genetics originally, don't quote me on this, just something I was told, maybe the @mephisto guys will know better?)

light used: 600W HPS kept at 2-2.5ft above seedlings

Climate: Day 23-26 celcius Night 17-19 celcius RH 47-62%

Additional info: I first noticed the discolouring on Friday 26th January and wrote it into the grow journal. It spread to the rest of the leaf very fast on sunday night/monday morning.
When I went to check on everything yesterday morning, I noticed the leaves looking dry and breaking.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies.
I haven't done Ph tests on the water unfortunately.
The reason for this is that I went through a nutrient schedule with a friend who also grows in soil before I started, we went down the hydro shop and he helped me pick out the nutrients to use throughout the grow, basically mimicking his own schedule.
He informed me that he doesn't bother to Ph the water as he uses Advanced Nutrients Ph perfect nutes.

I would remove those damaged leaves and hold back on nutes for awhile and PH your water.Make sure the entire pot is moist so roots do not hit any dry spots.You can feed veg nutes in a week or so but up the dosage because your NPK value of those nutes is pretty low.Also start using cal/mag at 1/2 tsp per gal at every feeding.I would also raise the light up slightly and see if the leaves start reaching for the light,not curling down witch may be caused by light to close.

I'll make sure to do those things as soon as my lights get back on within the next hour and will keep this post updated on how its going.

So I did as namvet25 suggested and removed those leaves. I also moved my light up a bit, its currently sat at 3ft above the canopy.
I'm pretty sure that I've been over watering the girls too. I have given them 1L of water each, roughly every 2 days. I think this has turned out to be too much, so I made a few holes in the soil of the plants that had the most droop on them in order to help them dry out a bit quicker.


I have also put some newspaper under those pots in the hope of drawing out more moisture.
I've also stopped spraying the inside of the tent with water for humidity purposes and instead put a large, wet towel inside the tent along with the 2 glasses of water I have in there.
I just ordered a pH pen and some pH up and down from amazon, hopefully that should be here within the next few days.

.... odd to see such wasting this young/early,... make me worry about in-pot pH,.. not reflected at all by what your inputs are, to many other influencing factors,... symptoms looked like P defc., which hints at acidic soil pH,... no further progression onto other leaves? Look into getting a soil pH probe, like the Accurate 8 (control Wizard), otherwise you're stuck with crappy run-off testing...

Thanks for the great information there @Waira. Just had a look on amazon and found the kind of probes you were referring to. Got two on order now and yeah that will be a great help as it will help give me a little bit more information about the condition of my soil. Thanks for the reply mate, have a good one
