So I ordered a new light off flea bay finally got to use it yesterday just got in from work check on my grow and the thing has fell apart it is cheaply mad and dangerous the light is held to the balast with cheap glue that looks like no more nails the make is
250w GIANT CFL 2700k
Will post some pics of it
If any of you guys are using cfls I would recommend u go check them out could have cause a fire my
Main cola is burnt to a crisp

It looks like the bulbs are glued into place with some form of agent. The outer case in PI moulded like most plastics problem is you cannot overmould onto glass therefore Must have been human operator error who applied.

As per last message hard to judge off one incident. Definitely something to watch out for though.

The make is GIANT mate it was a new bulb
like u said it Might just be a one off due to human error

Just thought I would make people a aware I got a shock when I checked in my tent could have caused a fire

I just notice some dates printed on the bulb do CFLS have an expiry date or could it be a manufacture date when it was made ?

The bulb still works fine would I be able to fix it with some glue or something I have emailed the seller hope they can sort it out

There might be a manufacture date somewhere on the whole module. With those bastards the bulbs could be 5 years old or 1 hour.

I wouldn't recommended using a cheap CFL for longer than 1 grow 2 absolute max. For the money it is just not worth it.

Do not use this bulb man. Advanced star is the best cheap import I have found. It is also endorsed by secret jardin.

Bin it off. Get a new one

Thanks will check them out would u recommend a dual spectrum or another 2700k

was gonna stick it back together with some fusion paste but it's not worth the risk think I was lucky to catch it when I did

Just demand an immediate refund. send them pictures, If they refuse tell them they'll be somewhere they wish they weren't. All will be sorted.

Yeah I was pissed off when I found it like only ordered it last month tested it and was well impressed

I switched bulbs up before work this morning The heat from the balast must have been to much for the cheap glue it only lasted 12 hours

So now I am a flowering bulb down and have a scorched cola this grow has been a right nightmare for the beginning
