If I offended anyone...sorry...
I just know how easy it is for people to hear or read something and then just take it for the truth.
And really I just wanted to know HOW he knew...for my future saftey and for everyone else as well.

Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many.
Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books.
Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders.
Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations.
But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.
In this modern age we can research so much knowledge at the tips of our fingers on the interweb and after careful research, observation and analysis we can draw our conclusion.

The EXIF tag contains mostly information only useful for photographers, like ISO, lighting, speed, flash, and camera model. But it can also contain geolocation of where the picture was taken, if the camera or phone has it's gps enabled AND if geolocation isn't specifically turned off in camera settings. This again is very helpful for photographers and reserchers working with large numbers of photos. Unfortunately the police found one more way to be lazy, and bust weed growers, instead of doing real police work like working on the backlogged rapes and murders.
Here's an example of what the EXIF tag contains:
