New Grower Security / Danger - Posting grows

Hide your IP address and EXIF data then make sure you don't photgaraph anything sensetive like envelopes with address' on (yes I've seen this on here) and reflections even tattoos and close ups of finger tips. If your careful your safe.

Relax Justin :) there's plenty of posts here on exif data. I can find you some more info if you like and PM it to you.

Hi Buddy Blue, I am relaxed. :)
If I offended anyone...sorry...

I just know how easy it is for people to hear or read something and then just take it for the truth.
And really I just wanted to know HOW he knew...for my future saftey and for everyone else as well.

NOT calling anyone a liar or anything bro.

Big hug you maniac...lol

Well i think if we can take anything from this thread - it is that we need to make the security advice more visible to the community! :)

I don't like to take anything for granted or take something as read, either.
I like to use the interweb to research information and double check the facts for myself, I would encourage anyone to do this.

Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it.
Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many.
Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books.
Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders.
Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations.
But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.

In this modern age we can research so much knowledge at the tips of our fingers on the interweb and after careful research, observation and analysis we can draw our conclusion.

What does the EXIF tags actually say?
The EXIF tag contains mostly information only useful for photographers, like ISO, lighting, speed, flash, and camera model. But it can also contain geolocation of where the picture was taken, if the camera or phone has it's gps enabled AND if geolocation isn't specifically turned off in camera settings. This again is very helpful for photographers and reserchers working with large numbers of photos. Unfortunately the police found one more way to be lazy, and bust weed growers, instead of doing real police work like working on the backlogged rapes and murders.
Here's an example of what the EXIF tag contains:
