Have grown schwag in past, and seeds were free and overly abundant, so I just threw a couple, in a bunch of peat pots, and what grew grew, no big deal.

Had REALLY bad luck, with first order of seeds. Over 50% did not germinate in rockwool (ph adjusted to 5.8). Almost no growth at all (barely made it out of shell).

Want to do RDWC with them. Can peat pots with soil (moved to net pots with hydroton), be used with RDWC?

Would like to take clones. Have had very little luck with that, also. Have cloning gel (Olivia's), rockwool plugs, 1.75 inch and 3.5 inch net pots, rooting hormone, etc..

Can anyone point me to youtube links, or tek's they like?

Will start watching Jorge Cervantes video's, but it could take weeks to get through all of them.

Thank You!!!!!

Does anyone know who's video's to watch and who to avoid on youtube?? Some are concise, while others drone on and repeat themselves.

peat pots should be avoided in general. I hate them. Roots do not break through the sides like they claim and they tend to turn into a soggy, moldy mess. Oh how I wish I could strip them from the shelves! I've never tried to use them on cannabis, this is just based on the results I got from pepper plants and tomatoes. :2cents:

......rant over.

I have a clone king and I've used it along with Clonex gel so many times with great success. I lost my last batch of clones I tried for from my current flowering plants because the timer on my heater jacked up and the water got too cold. The thing is so simple to use and makes cloning a joke. No humidity dome, no snipping leaves, no watering, nothing. I fill mine with spring water from the store put it in a flower tent with a T5 about ~4 feet up (for heat really) and just let 'er rip.

EDIT:

Also, should be noted you can use the Clone King to start seeds too. I haven't used it for that purpose because of my climate being so up and down (for whatever reason, winter days can be 85 degrees here some days and 20 others).

Great little device, you can build one with a heating pad and cake tray from a supermarket for less, but if you're not into that sort of stuff the convenience in the $25 is huge.

As well I understand the hate for peat pellets (Jiffy) but I'm a big fan of Rapid Rooters and have used them a great many times with success. I have never tried rockwool but intend to here after the new year.

I think you misunderstand me, I use pellets quite often. My wrath is reserved for peat pots, which are little pots made from peat as apposed to the seed sprouting pellets.

you know theres no need for clonex with this right?

in fact, i find very little change using or not using clonex when cuttings are taken and handled properyl... :2cents:

I'll give it a go with no rooting hormone, I've never tried to use them without rooting gel but Clonex is obnoxiously expensive for what it is anyways. What's the purpose of the rooting gel if it's not needed in cloning devices? I was under the impression cloning gel / rooting hormone activated the chemical signals for the plant to go into a "rooting" phase, is this not true? You always have new information man. I'll never forget how much you helped me with my first big grow with designer seeds which was almost two years ago now, I've grown out a couple lbs since then still using techniques you taught me about + what I've learned.

I read somewhere that seeds are getting nuked going through customs. In other words, they don't want to stop the flow of seeds because it is huge business but on the other hand, the US gov doesn't want it. The end result? Seeds that don't germinate.. I have ordered seeds from the exact same place in a short succession of time and had one group of seeds germinate like a mother**** and the others like 1 out of 6....
