Hey guys,

I planted two Nirvana Short Rider seedlings and one seems to be quite stunted. At about 4 days it has barely developed it's first pair of fan leaves. I am in FFOF under 24/0 300 W MH in a tentat about 80 degrees F.
Because of the age, I haven't fed anything yet. just pH'd water going in at about 6.5 when the top inch of the soil is dry.

The tiny fan leaves look slightly crumpled...

Any suggestions on something I might be missing?

I know you've said the air temp is 80F, but what's the heat like at the seeding's leaves?
Does sound a bit like a heat / light intensity issue.

4 days is too short a time to tell ... FFOF can be too hot but a lot of growers use it successfully ... since the seeds are planted best to let them run their course ... runts can catch up to their sisters and are often quite impressive given time. In my current grow the most advanced buds are on the plant that was a runt a couple weeks ago.

:tiphat:

I second what Chester said. I've had runts kick serious ass when they started growing. If they're under the same conditions, don't panic yet

I use FF OF and plant germ-ed seeds in it. It will burn the tips of the leaves but ive never had a baby just die in FFOF. If it did die i wouldn't wanna grow that bean anyways.. some seeds just explode out of the soil with 0 issues and you know that was the "right" seed. Ive learned with autos its all about the seed and the genetics inside that seed.

Thanks all! Sounds like I'll just let it run its course (planned to anyway, just curious if I was fucking something up). The temperature at the leaves is what I've reported, I keep the thermometer at canopy level.

Ah cool. I do the same with a thermometer and remote probe (£1 ea. on Fleabay).

Soooo... As it turns out it has a fused cotyledon and only one first true leaf... Thoughts on what I should do?

The cotyledons almost make a half-bowl structure on the left, and the true leaf is on the right.
