Lighting SG growing A BIG-ASS rdwc plan under GN leds !!

How are you doing your RDWC? Single res reciculated or dual res? I'm planning to convert my 2 DWC res into RDWC, by adding a third res and tying all three together. Its really fairly simple to do. I agree with your assessment of DWC. The more I read the journals detailing the woes of dirt, the happier I am with my DWC lol. Yes, it can have its problems too, but fewer really and generally easier to fix. Start up costs are higher but your payed back in results! I haven't changed my res in 10 days, because I broke a stem and don't want to disturb her until healed. Checked my ppms and ph today, and both are still good. Can't do that with soil.

And man, what a beast that plant is!

:Sharing One:

No just single reservoir rdwc! Had the plan to make multi bucket rdwc, but not longer have this plan!
Singel reservoirs have more flexibility and if you just have 2 or 3 plants I would recommend singel reservoir!
After this grow I need to stop my growing for some time but when I restart I will get 2 single rdwc buckets!
I find it super handy I can use the pump to pump water out of the reservoir without to much troubles!

Hey SG im going to sub for the rest of this, hope you dont mind. looking great dude.

Good to have you here!

Something that crossed my mind, I read allot about people bubbeling their water before applying it to the dwc-systeme.
I never do this because I believe a little bit of chlorine (depending on your tapwater, ours is good for drinking) keep things healthy inside the bucket!
Never had any root issues and temperatures have gone above 20 tot max 21-22 in the reservoir!( water straight out of the tab is more sterile than water that's been bubbling for couple of days)
Also the fact that I never change the nute solution completely has the effect that the micro-life in the bucket remains stable and that other organisms aren't able to take over the place! Also most important keep light out of your reservoir!!

Thanks for the rep!

The smell this plant gives is truly funky, first an overripe fruit smell( berries, apple, no citrus) that transforms into something fresh minty!

You know, I've wondered about that myself for the same reasons. I use tap water, but I have been bubbling it first. I may have to rethink that. My biggest concern is the chlorine. Yes, I know a small amount can actually be good, but, the amount in tap water is not consistent. Having worked in the paper making industry in my younger days, heavy exposure the chlorine has made me sensitive to it, and I can smell even small amounts, so when the amount goes up, I can tell by smell alone! the ppms of my water is good though, at 127 average. Seems to give my girls all the cal/mag they need so far.

Did the first trimming :poof:
