Live Stoner Chat Should we reset reputation?

Right, we're stoners and we want to be taken seriously, because we are serious about what we grow.

I try not to be too serious but I really want this place to matter in growing circles. I'd be willing to wager that within 2 years someone we may or not already know will come and say "I got that job with so and so." Or " I made the grow team for so and so seeds.
Call me a dreamer, I met a guy years ago told me something similar about his favorite pass time as he showed me the line of rubber worms and casting lures and the little bb filled glass rattlers he made and shoved in to make his special, He used them himself and his wife sold them out of their trunk while he fished in week end meets at marinas and such that held bass fishing contests that were lucky to pay for the gas to get there if won.. Today they call it Bassmasters circuit.

I mean Im fine with keeping it if it actually ment something like the old days. under another name I was here early mid 2012 so I remember when

badges are ok as well, but they are not as accurate. since Im several shy and I dont run after them if I dont get em. ask once n Im done. but its still not an accurate way to reflect what he/she has done or is dong currently FOR the site and/or him/herself . just a jumble these days since we had those issues some time back. numbers and things got ALL hosered up

I try my best to grant them as soon as they are requested and proof given they are eligible. Its IMPOSSIBLE for me or any combination of staff to keep track of the need of every active member... If you ask once and done yes you may not be getting what you deserve. A simple pm to me direct will get things done faster. I'm sorry you haven't gotten ones you deserve however I cannot keep track of every active member. I need a little help...

I get lots of reps because I live in a far away place beyond imagining. Point shoot post, and the reps pour in. I'm very thankful people like what I do, they show me by the mountain of "likes" I sit atop, thank you all. I might be a star on the frontier, but here I consider myself an average grower(average on AFN ain't bad). The reps that 912 or 22 or, I have a long list of growers I look up to! I see they get reps for growing and showing others how it's done. This is what I aspire too.

I give you lots of rep because you live and grow nice plants in a far away place beyond imagining. Being a semi-northerner(semi compared to you...lol) I know the dedication it takes to grow outside.

I had originally voted to do away with it altogether as status symbols never wound my clock. However, in reading the past several pages of debate, it appears that there are many of the members that find rep useful. So I have changed my vote.

Glad I'm not the only indecisive one.
The few who want to keep it, seem passionate about it. I think that outweighs the...eh, get rid of it group.

The more i think about it the more im coming back round. Its good to have a way to show someone appreciation for help/advice or just kidos for a great grow.
Esp when someone goes out of their way to make a guide or share a helpful post/link.
Maybe we could set a limit on how may rep points can be dished out if thats whats annoying some people.
Maybe you could only give out 1 rep point per day.
If someone does a special deed you could report post for a mod and they could rep them 3 or 5 points.
Then scores cant get wildly out of control.
Doesnt matter to me just throwing another idea out there- i know staff are busy enough as it is and we all appreciate the work you guys put in already!

Ps defo keep badges i dont see any downside to them
