Grow Mediums Smart pots

Hi, iv just started new grow with smart pots.iv got theem sat in washing up bowls. When i water it comes out the sides of the pot and drains into bottom of the bowl. Should i have them raised up from the bottom of the bowl so they are not sat in water?

Yes, raise them up for proper drainage

Or, and what I used to do, was use a turkey baster and suck out the run off.

Smart pots can not air prune that way.

They need to be elevated a bit for drainage and for air flow.
