Grow Mediums Smegheads 2nd Attempt at a 1st DWC Grow | Super Skunk #1 | 60 Day Wonder

Got the Autopots in the UK shipped to down under on eBay. They did a great job on my coco grow. Or do you mean my bubble buckets? Got my buckets from Modular Hydro, in the US. They are 3.5L buckets that I'm using for low yielders and for learning. They came without water level tubes but I have a couple General Hydroponic drip ring and water level tube kits that I'm going to retrofit these bucket with the water level tubes. I tried the drip rings and they didn't work out well for my Automazar. :(

It's been 1 day with the cracked beans in the rockwool and no sign of them popping out yet. I hope I didn't overdose them with voodoo juice, using half amounts instead of 25%. Hope I can mimic your success in germination!

Sorry yeah, i think i was thinking of oxypots. I'm in Australia too and couldn't find any netpot bucket lids or bubble buckets of any sort...and the postage to get them from the states was more than the buckets themselves...Hence why i have white buckets covered in builders wrap stuff and duct tape. Fingers crossed for a good germination mate.

Both seedlings have popped their little heads out of the rockwool today so I placed them in their buckets. It's starting to get cool here in Victoria at night, lows between 10c and 13c, do I want to heat the room and keep it at 25c? I have one mini aquarium chiller and may get another.

Rez PH set to 5.5
PPM 223 (2ml Sensigrow A,3ml Sensigrow B and 5ml Voodoo Juice)
Ambient Temp 24
Rez Temp 23
RH 60

Again, I'm using AN PH Perfect Sensigrow and Bloom and the Hobbiest bundle...voodoo juice, B52, Overdrive and Big Bud.

How long until I can drop the rez water level to below the netpot?

Awesome news dude. What light you running? My lights out time is from 12pm to 4pm...hottest part of the day... me temps so far have stayed pretty warm witg just my LED heating the tent.

I'm running the GN MS0006. Puts out like no heat at all. I'm doing 24/7 for the first few weeks then down to 20/4. I'm having to run a heater at night to keep it at 25c. This weekend and next week is going to be cool here in Vic, lows in the 10's and highs below 20.

Here's a guy on ebay that sells 18L buckets in Vic with the water level tube.

Here's a pic of each one. They look a little pale. Hope they are not overwatered. I'm not going to top feed anything.

The super skunk has some wierd leaf twisting issues since she germinated.

The 60dw is doing great.

I've put a water chiller on the 60dw and set it to 20c.

Does anyone have a weekly feeding schedule and ec chart that I can follow? Or should I just use the advanced nutrients directions and use onky 25 - 50% dosage? I jusr need to know the ec range by week.

Also, on water levels. I found an interesting post on another forum and it seems to be working good. Hope this is a help to others.

So, I put my cubes higher up in the pots and raised water levels until they were about 1in below the cubes. Then when the roots can span a 1 inch air gap below the net pot I'll lower the water level to 1 inch below the bottom of the netpot.

Hey man, there isn't any strict feeding guide for autos so nobody will be able to list exactly what EC you should have each week. Each strain and plant will have different needs from the rest and will require different EC levels. The general rule of thumb for DWC is to start seedlings off at 0.8 EC total once they have roots in the water and build it up by 0.2 each week. Like I say that is a very basic guide and strains will differ. Remember to take into consideration your background EC of your water, this messed up a few feedings for me early on, e.g my tap water has a backgroun EC of 0.4, so to create a res that is suitable for a seedling I need to add another 0.4 of nutes to take me to 0.8 total EC.
Hope some of this helps, oh and I also run the water level bellow the netpot for the first 2-3 weeks whilst the roots are getting established, seems to work fine :) :peace:

Edit: leaf twist/deformities are common in auto seedlings so nothing to worry about.

Thanks pal. I'm doin the "rootz in mah rez, rootz in mah rez, rootz in mah head" dance! The 60d-dub has a quarter inch root sticking out the bottom and she looks good! I lowered the water level to touching the net pot bottom. Waiting now for super skunky to pop her rootz out.

lol my tap waters EC is 0.8

Day 10

Did my first res change today. 7 liters of tap water left out overnight. Cleaned up both buckets with dish detergent and a few drops of bleach.

9ml of sensigrow a + b
7ml of cal-mag
7ml of voodoo juice
7ml of b-52
5ml of cannazym
Got me to 0.8 ec

60 day wonder has a 2 inch root below the net pot. Still no tap root from the Super Skunk but she is bigger than the 60dw. She's a little stretched but growing good but looks a pale green so I uped the Nitrogen with B52.

Question: when should I hit them with the 2 LED veg modules of the GN ms0006? I'm still using the one middle module. What height should the light be now? Its still at 3 ft.
