Day 40

I did a rez change today for both plants to bloom nutes. As advised, I added 3ml of Calmag to get to 0.2 EC, then 18ml PH perfect sensibloom a + b, 8ml of Big Bud and 8ml of Voodoo Juice. So, the total EC is now 0.9 for both plants.

Need some advice as to what the EC should be at week 5 and what it should max out at.

Hey man, just had a quick catch up..have you lowered your EC now? I read it was 1.3? Now the latest post says 0.9 total? You're going to struggle to find a strict EC guide week by week as each plant will have a different requirements, you need to set the EC on res change day, let her drink for 24-48 hours and check the EC again, if it has dropped then you can increase the EC by 0.2, if the EC has gone up since the change then you should lower it by 0.2 EC. Some autos are quite sensitive and won't go anywhere above 1.4 EC whereas I've seen others being pushed to close to 2.0EC purely down to their hungry genetics. There is no right and wrong, only what your plant is asking for, she is your best teacher if you learn how to listen.
Is the chiller up and running now? you want to aim for 20 degrees Celsius to avoid root rot and such, those brown roots could just be from the nutes she's received so far, very normal in dwc if you're not using anything to clean roots like me, the Canna nutes tend to stain them after 2 weeks of use.

p.s I was exactly the same as you on my first couple runs, very worried and anxious -constantly seeking a guide for EC week by week, BUT - just relax, listen to your plants and it will get easier and less stressful

Hey pal,

I got 2 chillers running now. I did the last res change and added 3ml calmag to 0.2, then the an ph perfect nutes at 2/3rd strength (18ml) to ec 0.6, then 6ml of big bud and voodoo juice to ec 0.9.

The next day when topping off I didn't check ec first, just added 1.25ml of tap water to each plant. Then checked ec and the skunk was at 0.7 and the 60dw was unchanged. So I added 3ml of sensibloom a+b to the skunk.

The 60dw has that strange def still so I may prune fan leaves affected and just prune back fan leaves on both plants because they are growing into each other and blocking our light to both bud sites. I'll start with this the ones with the most affected def.

I'm not 100% but I think that's cal/mag deficiency, you could try upping your dosage on the next res change or add some to the current res - trimming leaves won't stop the problem. If you add some to your res make sure you mix it into some water first to dilute the solution, cal/mag doesn't mix well..

I was up to 18ml of calmag (for 6L of water) when this started. Others said it was calmag blocking out nutes and for ph perfect nutes to work it needed 0.2 ec of calmag first then add nutes.

Dont know who to follow follow to fix this condition.

I had a similar thing going on in my soil grow. It finally stopped spreading after I flushed the soil with some low concentration kelp plant food mixed into the water followed by a recommended dosage of cal-mag a few days after that.

I pruned the affected leaves to see if it's continuing or stopped the lockout.

Day 48 - Almost week 7

Did a rez change today to EC 1.0 for the 60DW and 1.2 for the Super Skunk. Not sure I've found the sweet spot yet. Those golden yellow tiny spots have spread to other leaves after the pruning of the effected ones..

I pruned the super skunk pretty good and accidentally pruned a top bud stem that had 3 buds growing on it. OOOOPPPPS! I was cursing myself on that one.

The 60dw is starting to resinate. She's twice as big as the first one I grew. Bunch of bud sites and a nicely budding middle cola.
