Sup guys got a pretty major issue with my purple kush, doing a routine tuck and i must've been a bit rough because all of a sudden snap... and my world turned upside down. I taped her up and came back an hour later to find it hanging off again, taped her up again but the snap is pretty close to a new branch so its very fiddly and i'm not sure whether it'll hold. Although i burned the crap out of her in the early stages because i didn't know how to use my e.c meter, she's day 26 now and has recovered better than i expected, seems very healthy and is growing nicely. Any way i was considering just topping her to save the plant the trouble of trying to fix itself and focus on bud growth. I've seen pretty reputable guys saying you shouldn't top autos but i'm in a pretty bad situation as it is. Anyone with more experience got any suggestions?

She's probably stressed enough with the snapping of the branch so I wouldn't recommend topping her
The taping was a good idea, tape her again if you need to and she should heal herself

Good luck

I see, not sure whether i made it clear but the snap is in the main stem so she's virtually half topped anyway. So whats the verdict afn tape her up and wait or get rid of it?

In that case, not sure if you can do anything else other than wait and see the results
Hope it turns out well!

Found a post from muddy saying to top during week 3 if your going to, could really use some more advice as i'm just coming to the end of week 3. Right now i'm swaying towards cutting it off, suggestions much appreciated!

just let it grow if you taped it right away it may come back ..if not then it's too late, it's been 'topped' for you....

Assuming it's not more than 1/2 the plant I'd cut it off ... so you can have a clean cut to heal ... normally you shouldn't trim autos but since it happened what can you do ... you can try to root the part you're cutting off ... treat it like a clone ... it can work ...

high!

Saw your post on the chat and found you here. Good.
man you are good, not that bad put "from the snaped picture" try when you tape to make the stem hold tight. I mean try to keep the scar really close and it should healed good.
Evnen auto will recover, but she might be bit delayed as fo rthe yield well:
It happened once to me but at seedling stage, one screw felt on it and snapped just above the cotyledon, it took 5 months total but I got out of her the largest of my yield ever. 72gr.
Wishiung you good luck,
:peace:

Cheers for the replies guys, interesting idea about rooting it. I'm completely torn about what to do so i may have to flip a coin.

don't stress just let it ride ..it won't hurt it either way what's done is done might as well see what happens in a few days... remember in the wild plants take alot of abuse ,animals eating, bugs eating, animal steps on it and such but they come back because they want to live it's a weed ..where I come from it's hard to kill a weed that's why we call them weeds ...here's a pic of my plant that I totally snapped the branch had to hold it together with a tie-wrap ...turned out to be apx 14' bud site (pictures on my page 'thai fantasy) I've had others I tape together and they held out, if not you may get a couple 'new' shoots = more buds take it easy I know it can be stressfull but let it ride!
