Lighting So many leds

Cheers Balarama! Yes, I was gonna run them slightly less, but I've seen quite a few people powering them at that wattage and having no problems, better penetration of light I higher wattage I've heard. Opted for bigger fans, the alpine64 plus have 100w cooling power. Hopefully everything will work!! And prolimatech pk3 thermal paste, what I've read is you want even zigzag paper thickness, and must be no trapped air between emiter, paste and heatsink. This is right yea?

Also drivers are dimmable from 10%-100%, so should be able to keep everything under control if I do feel running too hot.
The only problem I think I'll have now is heating grow space now!!! so thinking of buying a small oil heater/fan heater, but coming out of winter now so probably got 6 months until I'll need it.

But got fed up of looking and majority you see will be made with extremely cheap components. And it's cost me the same price to get something good quality, as what I would have paid for a fairly mediocre light. The way LED tech is going I can see Hps /MH becoming obsolete in the coming years.

Would you recommend each fan on its own 12v power supply?

The debate on spectrums should be long and detailed, so better concentrate on the budget and the amount of light you get.
I think you should wait for early spring for some new arrivals on the led market, maybe there will be something better to buy for your money than the older tech lights.
But if you are in a hurry, maybe consider the usual household leds on some fixtures, they provide pretty impressive light for the buck.
Some assembly skills are required but nothing special.
One company I ran across that uses the most recent cree 3590's is Tasty Led's. I have only found few that use the cxb3590 most still using the cxb3570.Also they're pricing seems a little more reasonable.
That being said, the results ive seen from loopy looper and his amare lights blows my mind. I was a little surprised to see the Amare uvb 450 wasn't using the cxb 3590's but instead the cxb 3570's. Perhaps the cxb 3570 has advantages I am unaware of. Maybe someone with more expertise could explain the advantages / disdvantages . I have no affiliation with either company.

CXBs are 3070 and 3590, they are similar in performance however the pricier model puts out more light at same wattage.
Some people think the difference is not so big to justify the cost, but these are usually reasons for saving money and not getting the best on offer. I understand completely everyone have their reasons.
I built my own light having in mind cost and performance, so I went for the bigger CXB3590. Could save money but efficency was a priority and I'm glad I made that decision. CXB3590 are impressive light machines.

The Amares use the cxb3070 which are the second best cob on market so far, slightly unoptimal performance but a bigger price gap to put more money in their pocket;)
Tasty have a CBX3590 version and is a very good light to buy if you're in the US. I would get Tasty but being in EU I gotta build my own. DIY kits will be available in EU soon.

Grownorthern, Budmaster or Mars.

Unless you get a buzz from waiting for your grow lights to clear customs, and paying import tax.

Cutter sells a growmou5 kit but you can get all the same parts separately from them for 60 bucks less .. East to put together and great heat sinks

Ripper, good to see another DIYer here.
Cutter and growmauz made passive systems which i kind of dislike because of lower light intensity amd penetration. I prefer small active coolers and medium driven cobs. Not the highest efficency but still pretty good enough.
I'll be back with more infos on kits in EU for anyone interested.

currently building mine with the CBX3590 3500K 72 volt.. I will post it up when done hopefully by Friday... it is a rebuild of a mars 300.. first of 3 being done.

@Ripper @Balarama
I am building now, half my lights done 8 3590's with 8 more to go and my 4'X4'X8'tall box just needs a door and exhaust fan/filter. where would I post at in diy or led thread?
