New Grower Soaking seeds in hot water for germing.

Read an article in Max Yield mag that said to put your seeds in hot tap water for faster germing.I'm not sure if I want try it and ruin fourteen dollar a piece seeds.Maybe i'll try some older seeds I really don't want and see what happens.

I use warm tap water just warm enough that you can feel it on your finger.

I wouldnt use anything hotter personally.

Yeah, I am a warm water type too.

I put mine in a shot glass and put it on a heating pad on low and put paper towels down into the water to keep the seeds from floating.

Wow I've killed plenty of seeds with them in a cup of water on the cable box, I think the water actually got to hot. I've since switched to germing straight to soil, may take a few extra days but using the straight to soil method I've been able to germ seeds almost 8years old! The entire growing game is all about patiences why rush to the starting line when the race hasn't even started?

I use moist paper towels in a baggie placed on a small saucer. Then I place it on top of my home theater receiver to keep it warm. 100% germ rate so far. :thumbs:

Hey Namvet25 just thought i throw this in there. Have you ever tried using CANNA rhizotonic? Add 1-2ml per litre into your water a put some in a glass. Put your seed in the glass and the seed will drop after about six hours its amazing stuff.

Its used for Early seedling growth its algae based. Its very good for increasing root growth.
