Old Reviews soil advice

Exactly.. The coco bricks can come from kinda scurvy sources, so its salt impregnated- not good.
The Roots cocopalms, and any high quality coco mix, shouldn't "need" rinsing. Some growers rinse it anyway, but in my experience, no issues if you don't.
I actually DO use calmag in precharge, but only if I'm doing that run under LED. If its going in the HPS, then I omit it from the precharge :)

Yeah im under mars 2s 700 watt so i need to add cal mag then at precharge. So i guess do the florakleen at a ph of 5.8 to hydrate it out of the packaging then squeeze all the liquid out then precharge it again with calmag?

Yes :)

I sure hope my hydro store carries that roots organic brand of coco. Ill try out two plants one with the flora nova line and the other ur recommendation waximus see what happens

My other big question waximus is do i feed the seedling calmag full strength even when its just poped up out of the coco and dont feed nutes till i see the third nodes?

After precharging with calmag, I don't add more into the nutes until around week 5. And, then, I will use 2-3 ml/gal (I use Calmag Plus from Botanicare) unless I see the telltale spotting start on the leaves. I've had autos that didn't show a calmag def until week 8, and it just took a full 5ml/gal to stop it.
In my environment, I use well water, and it has 100-150 ppm of "minerals" in it. Most of that is calcium, so, as long as the plants are in a good pH range, they'll get some calcium and magnesium (and iron, boron, zinc, etc..) from the well water.
If using distilled or RO water, there's no "extra" in the water, so adding calmag is more of a concern :)
Thinking about it now, I haven't had much in the way of calmag issues since I started using coco drip setups. But then, I started using AN nutes with the drip systems, and I think there are a lot of little "extras" in their various mixes that might be compensating for the calmag addition.
Its great that you're asking these questions ahead of time :) I did the same, and have to thank AFN members truu, and JAYAR and a bunch of others for giving me the good word. The first run under my DIY drip, I was expecting nightmares! But, it was an autopilot grow from the very start, and it went better than I could have hoped!
Let me know when you've got a journal up. I'd love to follow along for the maiden voyage!
:pass::headbang::bighug:

ps: Canna coco is also a great product, if your hydro store only stocks one bagged form. Mine only has Roots now, unless you want coco bricks from Dog knows where... lolol

Yeah ill be using ro from the fill up station at walmart by me so it looks like i need to add some calmag every watering. Great info just gave. I cant imagine not having this site. You took years off the learning curve. I might just have to order off amazon the right coco coir. I see my favorite brand gh makes a pre shredded type with added perlite in the bag.

I want to give the drip system a shot someday. I take it theres a resevior and u just watch the ph ppms of it snd set the pump timmer?
thank you for your time btw waximus
