New Grower soil/CFL cabinet grow; 2 fem auto widow cheese

Hey Jenny :tiphat: I'm no expert on autos just 4 plants on my balcony this summer (joint doctor betty boo & short stuff blue himalayan) and I'm on my first indoor grow.

As my plants were finishing, the fan leaves went more yellow by the day. There was some yellowing from about half way thru flowering but this was different. It started with the bottom fan leaves and worked up. By the time the fan leaves on the cola had started turning I had finished a 10 day flush and cut 'em down. Only a few tric's were amber most were cloudy, as is the case with some autos I believe.

As for flushing, IIRC it's supposed to be the normal water/feed amount. Now I'm sure I've read on here it should be thought of as cleansing the plant rather than a flush, which I believe is more to do with removing nutrient salt build up.

I know our girls like a good wet/dry cycle but watered every day for my 'cleansing' even though the soil was still damp although don't know if that's right or not!

Again, I'm sure I've seen on here advice that says it's should be PH'd and yet more that says just plain tap water. I went with TaNg from his new feeding schedule thread https://www.autoflower.org/f26/tangs-new-improved-feeding-schedule-34408.html and used plain tap water.

Hope this helps in some way but if your still unclear maybe try the live help thread? https://www.autoflower.org/f164/afns-live-help-thread-replies-afn-staff-only-30723.html

All the best :Sharing One:

I'm hoping to start to flush in maybe 10 days :dunno: Does that seem premature? Regardless, when I do begin, what do I do? Specifically, is it with pH adjusted water? Is it every day with the huge amount of water or just once with subsequent waterings normal amounts (after soil dries and without nutes)?

Thanks, y'all. Looking forward to hearing from ya.

Cheers :tiphat:

what up jenny? lookin awesome. but yeah I would keep feeding for awhile. my rule of thumb is don't think about harvest if still have white hairs..

Day 63 update:

Been MIA for a while. The girls were in the hospital with some nute burn. Thankfully, the angels over in the Sick Plant thread got them diagnosed, treated and on the mend. So grateful for their help

It turns out, the girls were a little further along than I'd thought. My bro, Trapper, took a look at my trich pics and identified some ambering.

Since I was going to have to withhold nutes for a bit anyway, decided to proceed with the final cleansing on Day 60. Here are some pics from today:

Going to water with plain old tap water for the next 10 days, and then it's lights out! Planning to harvest the weekend after Thanksgiving "Bailers Booya""pher Wiggle"

Some questions about drying/curing:

1. How much will they smell? Should I plan on drying them in the tent with the filter running or would they be ok in a dry, dark out of the way room?
2. Should I just hang them upside down or use those mesh hanging drying trays?
3. Finally, anybody cure with the CVault and Boveda packs?

:peace:, y'all!

Jenny

Looks great!

1 - They are going to smell - Completely depends on security and personal preference as to what to do about it.

2 - Hanging will be fine :)

3 - Jars or CVault same dif except for transparent vs. opaque. Yes, use the bovedas but still burp the jars or vaults
every day to vent the build up of chlorophyl. after a week or two (when the grassy smell fades, then you can just check
them every once in a while.

Cheers! Nice work, you'll be super happy with the result!

UPDATE: We're done!!!!:d5: :smokeit:

The girls went dark a week ago today when I left for Thanksgiving. Harvested on Saturday, and let them dry on a one of those mesh hanging racks. Everything seemed suitably crisp today, so I did their final trims and popped everything into CVaults. Oh, before I put them away, we had a weigh-in: right at 3 oz. :Cool bud: Since it's just for my personal use, that should hold me for a while :smoke:

Next grow already in the planning stages: auto feminized Pineapple Kush. Still have some white widow cheese, so I might do one of each. Two plants at a time seems a really manageable and perfectly adequate number at this point. Will stick with CFL's for now, too. Again, manageable and adequate.

My question is: what soil????? I still have some Fux Farms OF, but I'm leery. If I use it, I'll definitely add some lime. It was so acidic last go round. OH, and I've ordered an Accurate8 soil meter. Should I go with the devil I know (FFOF) or try something new? Recommendations?

Thanks so much to all of you who held my hand through this very first grow :grat: No way would we have made it without your patient advice and words of encouragement.

Again, I "heart" all y'all :pighug:

Thanks sooooo much!!

Your pal,
Jenny :tiphat:

Great job, if you choose ffof just check the pH before you start. I still use it and cut it with fflw and extra perlite.

Hi,

Congratulations on your grow! I'm new, going to start in a few days so I will read through your journey and see if I can pick up some tips!
