Soil pot size

I've been using Root Trapper II 5 gallon with good success.

Is this size a waste of soil?
I do notice that the roots fill up the pot fairly well though.

Guess it all depends on your grow space and yield from the plant. You should see some of the 2 litre grows people are doing....

If you are growing beasts then no but if they are 5' or less it seems like overkill unless you are going added nutrient free!

I grow with FF Coco Loco and an additive like KindSoil or Mephisto SS.

I'll feed the roots with ReCharge, molasses, plus I mix in EWC at about 30%.

I recycle my soil so never an issue, but if you are successful with your pot size then why change? lower the size when ready or try a 2 litre bottle grow for fun or a 1.5 gal pot for fun in a corner. See how you get on.

5 gallon remains my favorite pot size bar none. Though I am using 3 gallon at this point. I too like Coco Loco very much. I get great roots with that product.
