Mephisto Genetics Sour Crack S1 Grow

The first thing I do when I get Mephisto seeds is do a feminized seedrun. They're so hard to get! I make S1s as well as F+1s.

Here is my first plant that I'm growing for actual consumption!

You can see my seeds in the little jar. The little quart ball jar is a Kratky experiment with one of the seeds as well.

The upside of having so many seeds is you can experiment without blowing the $12 per seed cost!

I also don't know how you could do the recommended 24 plants per 4'x4' at $12 a seed effectively.

I used Masterblend with homemade silica additive during veg and am using Maxibloom during flower with Koolbloom liquid and will add Koolbloom flower.

Forgive me for not knowing all the processes. So you buy a Mephisto seed, grow a female, then breed for seeds. What is your male breeding stock? Or are you somehow forcing a herm for pollen to backcross? (don't even know if that is used properly there)

You spray with STS or colloidal silver, a process that suppresses the female hormones so that a branch becomes male. You use that to self pollinate the plant or pollinate another plant. I did both, the S1 is the "selfed" pollinated plant with itself, and the F9(?) is a plant crossed with another sour crack. I think they were part of a F8 batch but it might have been F9.

Not quite, I did both. S1 has less genetic variety, since it's bred with itself. F9 is two F8s of the same strain bred together.
